Raw Sushi Bar Lounge: A Trendy Escape for Exquisite Sushi in Elk …
Reviews
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone—upscale, modern, and intentional. The lighting, the deep blue accents, and the beautifully designed sushi bar with its illuminated marble finish give off a high-end, city sushi lounge vibe that feels more like LA or Vegas than your typical neighborhood spot. It’s the kind of place that instantly feels perfect for date night, celebrations, or just treating yourself to a great meal at the bar.
The cocktail program deserves its own shoutout. Thoughtfully crafted drinks that actually complement the food and elevate the experience—not just pretty, but well-balanced and memorable. This is easily a place you could come for drinks alone and still have a great time.
Now the food—outstanding.
We started with Dante’s Inferno, and wow. Seared sesame tuna paired with tempura jalapeños that bring just the right amount of heat. Bold, exciting, and the perfect way to wake up your palate. Then came the Salmon Bomb, which balanced things beautifully—torch-seared salmon, rich crab mix, scallions, chili powder, garlic chips, and tobiko coming together in a smooth, savory bite that felt indulgent without being overpowering.
The nigiri platter was where the quality really shined. Clean cuts, incredibly fresh fish, and simple preparation that lets the ingredients speak for themselves. You can tell this kitchen respects the craft.
And the finale—the Golden Surf Roll—was next-level. Lobster tempura, snow crab, mango, topped with seared A5 Wagyu, micro cilantro, and chili paste. It’s bold, creative, and somehow still balanced. One of those rolls that makes you pause after the first bite because you know you’re eating something special.
Even the small details stand out—like the poker chip touch tied to the nearby Sky River Casino. Fun, clever, and adds personality without feeling gimmicky.
Bottom line: RAW Sushi isn’t just about great sushi—it’s about the full experience. Impeccable service, stunning ambiance, top-tier cocktails, and food that clearly comes from passion and precision. Easily one of the best sushi experiences in the area and a place we’ll be coming back to.
Highly recommend.
We had a lovely waitress who was super attentive, and we were even more excited to have her as it was her birthday. We laughed with her each time she came to our table to check on us.
The food was very good overall – I will apologize now, I cannot for the life of me remember the names of the rolls we got. The one call out was that two of the rolls, because the other two had a sauce either on them or in them, were a bit dry in comparison to the others. All of them had fresh ingredients, were made aesthetically pleasing, and each individual had their own favorite roll.
I would definitely go back and try some of the other items they had.
The important things are: how’s the food, how’s the service, and how are the drinks…
The answer: they’re all really good. Food is fresh and the two rolls we got were delicious. Sashimi was fresh and oysters were fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and the cocktails were strong and delicious.
Now the not so good is expect a high tab at the end. Rolls average over $22 dollars per, and cocktails are near $20. Sashimi plate is easily $30. The total for four people came out well over $350. But it’s a one time experience for us so it’s not bad.
Will have to come back here again.
We went during Christmas time last year. Way too understaffed so service was so slow. Not worth the wait to come back for.
Fun vibe though- hard to find something with this atmosphere in Elk Grove; it’s a blend of upscale bar/lively music/nice restaurant. Would be good for a date spot!
May consider trying it again if 1) make reservations 2) they had happy hour and it was really good
The bartender was so sweet and very attentive. She makes a delicious side car. So good, that it didn’t take much to convince me to have another!
Sushi was fresh and Ika kage was crisp.
Can’t wait till the next date night!
