Ravenna Restaurant – A Hidden Gem for Authentic Italian Cuisine in …
Reviews
We had a lovely evening, the whole meal for 6 people with a bottle of wine and beer was only £120. A nice place.
The food is really good. I had seafood risotto and my partner had meat calzone for mains. For starters, we shared a cheesy garlic bread. All meals were cooked to perfection. They were all served in generous portions as well.
The staff were hospitable and nice. Chef came out to give us our main meals which was refreshing to see. Gave it a unique feel.
Would come back.
What truly set the event apart was the incredible hospitality from the kitchen staff and the owner. The owner went above and beyond, taking the time to chat with guests and make everyone feel welcome. It’s rare to find a place where the entire team is so committed to creating a memorable experience.
Ravenna exceeded all expectations, and I’m so grateful for their role in making this special day unforgettable. Highly recommended for any event or even just a great meal.
Leave some room for the lovely homemade Tiramisu which is light but rich in flavour.
Unpretentious, lovely evening in a restaurant where people still care and have passion for their work. A refreshing change.
The owners/staff were also very friendly and joined us in having a free complementary limoncello.
The toilets were exceptionally clean too.
I didn’t take many pics of the food as was too busy eating but here’s a few I did take
Now to the negatives, our starters were sitting under the hot plate for at least 10minutes! I had to get up and speak to the waiter/manager/owner who said he had not realised(although he walked past the food at least 3 times) and proceeded to have a go at the chef, we ordered 4 soft drinks and asked for ice & lemon, the drinks were delivered reasonably quickly but no glasses with ice & lemon! I had to request this although by this time we only required 2 glasses as 2 family members decided to drink through the straw provided, we were told that the pizzas were wood fired pizzas and that they were the best pizzas in Bristol! Well this could not be further than the truth, the pizzas were not wood fired and after close inspection I realised the oven looked like a wood fired oven but it was actually electric not wood burning! One of the pizzas was supposed to have ham but Parma ham was used instead and truthfully the pizzas were nothing special. The steak although of very good size did not arrive as medium but was actually rare, I did not complain as I can eat rare but why bother asking if you are going to cook it as you want not as the customer requires?
The gentleman who served us was boasting about the best pizza and the dough coming from Ravenna in Italy. Well let me tell you my friend the best dough is left for 48 hours before using it to cook the pizza in a proper wood burning oven!
As mentioned to you we were from Italian origins and you continued to brag about your food but truthfully you are more a cafe than a restaurant like you claim on your website.
We were only in this area due to a meeting and will not be coming to this establishment again, I do not recommend this restaurant for pizzas and the service provided by the gentleman which by the way only had 2 other customers at the time we were there.
