I love a good Thai place. I give this place an 8 out 10. The food was perfect, the spice level we selected “medium” was the perfect spice level for my husband and I.
Parking can be a bit difficult(street parking) it is Philly, there is a mini parking lot across the street that can be used if not already filled.

This spot is an absolute gem. The food was INCREDIBLE and the atmosphere was extremely cozy. My partner and I got red curry and khao soi and everything was flavorful, hot, and delicious. We really appreciated the lighting and beautiful textile art all over the restaurant. Extensive menu with tons of vegetarian and vegan options. The servers were extremely kind and quick. New favorite spot in the neighborhood and I only wish we had gone sooner.

We saw a reddit recommendation for this place and so glad we went! We went after the lunch rush and didn’t have to wait for a table. The drunken noodles were yummy. It had the “wok” flavor we love and the addition of spice was a nice touch. We also got the Penang curry which was also very good. We’d definitely add this spot to the regular rotation if we lived in Philly.

This place deserves to be the best Thai place in Philly in my life so far. They have the most authentic Thai&Lao menu and vibe. The service was perfect, lemon water, and strong spices. I truly can’t find any flaw, except for the slightly fancy price. But I didn’t regret to pay at all. More than worth trying if you like southeast Asian food.

Curry was delicious and piping hot. Pad see ew was also quite good, though the crunchy prepackaged-style salad heaped around the sides was a bit of an odd choice – I reluctantly forced down the salad first so I could enjoy the pad see ew properly without chunks of cabbage and iceberg-y lettuce getting mixed in. Portion sizes were good. Tulip dumplings (pork and shrimp) felt dense and dry to me but the person I was with liked them. Service and vibes were great. Atmosphere was good. Prices were tolerable but felt on the higher end for what it was (about $20 for a curry or noodle entrée). Did not blow us away, but it was pleasant enough and we’ll probably come back since it’s close.

Ordered the lao platter on uber eats and left a note asking for xxxx spicy thum. With 20+ peppers and not a single pepper was present. The rest of the food was pretty good but the thum mak hoong was what I wanted the most.

**Simply phenomenal!** Whether you’re planning a cozy family dinner or a romantic date night, this place delivers. The atmosphere was elevated by the soulful Bossa Nova music, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. The food was so delicious and plentiful that we had to take home **not one, but two** to-go boxes. Highly recommend!

What a pleasant surprise! On a cloudy rainy day, we decided to visit a Thai Lau restaurant in South Philly. Located in an Asian community in South Philadelphia, this area is full of markets, restaurants, and other businesses of that nature. I’ve been coming to this area for over 25 years, but this was my first time at this particular restaurant. The sign above the main entrance is quite nice, but from the outside, you wouldn’t realize how beautiful the inside is until you step in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a romantic feel to it.
Even though it was early for dinner, around 4 PM, there was another couple in the restaurant. There was lovely music playing, and we were seated right away by a friendly young lady. We decided to try the Buddha veggie dumplings, which were delicious. They were lightly fried and filled with vegetables – a refreshing change from the usual half-filled dumplings. They came with a tasty dipping sauce on the side.
Next, we ordered the green curry with tofu. It was creamy and had a perfect balance of curry flavor, along with bamboo shoots, bell peppers, string beans, and fresh basil. Despite being labeled as very spicy, it was actually quite manageable. The creaminess helped to tone down the spiciness, resulting in a well-balanced dish. We also tried the Tom Yum pak soup, a veggie lemongrass soup with tofu, mixed veggies, onions, lime, basil leaves, and mushrooms. It had just the right amount of spice and was incredibly well done.
We had some tea and enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the restaurant. More couples started to come in, adding to the romantic ambiance. It’s a great place for a date night or a family dinner – truly a hidden gem that we thoroughly enjoyed.

My Thai wife and I go to Ratchada regularly and it’s always a great experience. Service is always friendly and attentive and the food is always great and authentic. For our last visit, I ordered cashew chicken and my wife had the Ka na moo krob and as usual it was fantastic!
