This place has had a fantastic reputation for many years, so we finally booked a reservation and made a visit on a Saturday night. It was medium-busy, I feel like we could have been seated even without a reservation on this night – which was not the case years ago. We decided to make our life easy and ordered their tasting menu (1 regular and 1 vegetarian) being our first time this would allow us to sample many options. There was a soup like amuse bouche and pappadams to get rolling. I opted for a ginger lemonade which was really nice; my partner, a glass of Albarino by some other name which she said was also good. Getting both tasting menus was a great idea. Highlights were the crispy baby spinach and the chicken tikka masala. That said, we were underwhelmed by most of the dishes. Flavors were not really distinct, nothing was terrible, but very few dishes really stood out. Given their reputation, this was a disappointment had we been at a strip mall Indian place, it would have been par for the course. My chai tea arrived in a teapot that was actually cold so I had to reorder which made for a longer than anticipated wait. Cannot believe that teapot was delivered by hand and the server didn’t notice that it was ice cold. We waited too long to come here, perhaps their other location is more on point, but this one is far from fine dining, far from five stars, and I gotta believe there is better Indian food to be found in DC, we’ll certainly look around before we return here.

Rasika West End delivers a dining experience that feels polished, warm, and deeply satisfying. The atmosphere is modern, sexy, and effortlessly sophisticated, creating the perfect backdrop for an elevated night out.
The service is exceptional—the staff is efficient, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They guide you through the menu with confidence and clarity, offering insights that genuinely enhance the meal.
The food is outstanding, with bold flavors and refined execution. While everything impressed, two dishes truly stood out: the lamb, cooked to perfection with rich, layered seasoning, and the truffle naan, an indulgent favorite that’s worth the visit on its own.
Rasika West End blends striking ambiance, exceptional hospitality, and memorable cuisine, making it a destination you’ll want to return to again.

I went to Rasika with a friend and was impressed with the food. The interior of this place feels a little 2010s and it definitely due for an update. However, I really enjoyed our meal and I found it to be a good deal! $80 for the tasting menu was a great move and a wonderful way to try everything, including dessert, without getting too full.
The highlights for me were the Palak Chaat, Sweat Potato Samosa, and the curry selection. All were included with the tasting menu (alongside Naan and Mint Paratha).
This is some of the best Indian food in DC. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for an unforgettable meal!

Everything was absolutely delicious. The Palak Chaat was the star of the night! We also really liked ordering the assortment of chutneys to go with the fried cauliflower. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it had a Smokey flavor that different than others we’ve tried and provided a more complex profile to the dish that we really liked.
The restaurant itself had a cozy vibe but felt a bit crowded and loud. We were seated towards a corner that had something covered under a black tarp that took away from the ambience.

We had a genuinely wonderful dining experience. On our server’s recommendation, we tried the palak chaa, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive throughout the meal and clearly knowledgeable about the menu, which made the whole visit feel warm and well‑guided.

What a feast. Had dinner with my old college roommate, and Rasika came highly recommended – now I know why! I was seated promptly after arriving a smidge early through torrential rain for a 7:15pm reservation. Beer list was good, and I enjoyed the specialty craft beer they have brewed exclusively. The menu was extensive and unique, and everything we ordered was fantastic. The keema-stuffed naan was a particular favorite, as was the creamy and delicious mango lassi. This was a GREAT meal – one of the best I’ve had in a long time, and I will for sure be back next time I am fortunate enough to be in our nations capital.

I’ve frequented Rasika for years personally and for business. While we had no real issues with our food, like other reviewers the food didn’t stand out like it used to. The real issue last night, however, was with the service. We had a 7:30pm reservation and arrived at 7:20pm. We were not seated until 7:40pm, rushed through dinner and then we asked to leave at 9:00pm because “an 8:45pm reservation had arrived.” Per posted information on Resy, you have your table for 2 hours. We were allotted an hour and 20 mins and asked to leave after having wine with dinner, apps, multiple entrees, and dessert. It was really disrespectful to be seated late and asked to leave early. We were not boisterous and having a nice dinner to celebrate an engagement. I will not return and am encouraging my family, friends, and contacts to search elsewhere for better Indian food and a better experience.

Rasika has amazing food – I know it’s basic to order the palak chaat & chicken tiki masala – but honestly- do it! Just incredible.
My husband and I eat here regularly 2x a month – it is our go-to “did you have a challenging week?” treat place!
But we always sat at one of the cute tables – we recently sat at the bar & we were blown away by Michael! He was making drinks for the entire restaurant and giving us the best food service/hospitality service we ever had at Rasika! Despite it being very busy and certain servers being very aggressive to him with their drink orders – he handled it all with grace & professionalism!
10/10 recommend this restaurant- but sit at the bar and have the best service from Michael!!!

This restaurant truly understands what hospitality is supposed to feel like. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and comfortable. The staff was attentive, kind, and professional without ever being overbearing.
The food was excellent, thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Every part of the experience felt smooth and enjoyable, which made it easy to actually relax and enjoy the meal.
Good food is important, but good energy and respectful service make all the difference, and this place delivers on all of it. I would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
