RARE is an Italian steakhouse located in the heart of Old Town in Fort Collins, Colorado. Inspired by travel experiences in central Italy, RARE offers a rustic, farm-to-table approach to dishes often found in Umbria and Tuscany. RARE’s menus feature fresh, homemade pasta and cheeses, the best in-house dry-aged steaks in Northern Colorado, and an extensive list of New and Old World wines.

Saved the best for last! We were visiting our daughter (from New Jersey) for a few days and picked RARE Italian as the last restaurant to try. We were not disappointed. It’s very pretty, sort of a fancy comfy vibe. Some people were dressed up, others were casual.
The hostess was friendly. Our table was very comfortable. Our server Jocelyn was excellent! She was super attentive, always filling up our drinks, checking on us, empty dishes don’t sit around, either Jocelyn or a nice young man would remove them right away.
The food and drinks were outstanding. I got the duck ragu, and a spicy pear marg. My husband got the filet-said it was one of the best he ever had, and my daughter and her fiancé (who are vegan) got the vegan eggplant parm. and said it was delicious.
We are coming back in June with more family and we will definitely be going here again for dinner.

Great service. Very attentive even though are party wasn’t ready to order for a very long time. I ordered the Filet medium rare which was cooked to perfection. I also ordered their broccolini and cherry tomatoes side dish which was very flavorful. I believe I ordered the NA Peach Smash for a beverage which was tasty but small. Meal is definitely pricey but worth it with the steak alone. Overall, I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Lived here for 15 years and this was my best overall dining experience in Colorado. Came for a girls night, had a reservation for weeks, and there was small issue with the table not being ready due to the previous party staying there for hours, no big deal. But the entire staff was so incredibly kind and accommodating, to both parties. The manager Collin was a class act and I was so impressed with how he juggled everyone and treated everyone with respect and kindness. Monica and Karly took care of our tables and we had the best time with the most delicious food! All superior quality and so well prepared. Would definitely recommend this to anyone for a special night out. Had a fantastic time.

Wow did we luck out! Perfect timing earned us a spot at the bar on Valentine’s Day. For this first visit we just enjoyed the calamari appetizer, authentic Italian bread and libations but will certainly be back to try their award winning steak. If you live in town or are just visiting, make a point to stop by and try this gem in Fort Collins

Great place for a nice dinner. We booked this a littler last minute as a birthday celebration for my husband and enjoyed a selection from each menu category. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful!
You have to try a pasta dish while you are there – you can tell that they pasta is made fresh. We got the mushroom one to accompany one of the dry aged steaks we shared which was a perfect combination – super garlicky and not too heavy! Our favorite was the house made burrata with blisters tomato appetizer!

I went with some work friends and everything was perfect from the cozy vibe to the amazing service. The steaks were seasoned perfectly, and every dish was full of flavor. Our server was super attentive and made the night easy and fun. Easily one of the best Italian spots in Fort Collins

Our experience was excellent! Liz was our server. She was top notch! My husband has some food allergies and she arranged with the kitchen to make him something he could enjoy. The food was absolutely amazing. The kitchen was very attentive and very fast! Liz was vet knowledgeable about the menu, and she has a great personality! Thank you so much we will be back!

Simply stunning experience, start to finish. One of my closest friends was in town so it called for a nice dinner and RARE did not disappoint!! Josiah (sorry if my spelling is off) provided the best quality service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant: Friendly, professional, polished, and genuinely invested in our experience. We had the incredibly delicious spicy pear marg and indigo aviation cocktails and a scrumptious 4 choice antipasti, going with our servers recommendations for cheeses and meats. We followed suit with servers recs for the entrees: grilled chicken toscano and ragu (subbing out the pappardelle for a skinny noodle). This meal made me understand how people can describe food as beautiful or gorgeous. The chicken was the best chicken I’ve ever eaten, and I left a true believer in whatever brine process they do to that chicken. The ragu was hearty and dynamic, and the noodle sub was a great choice because it allowed the sauce to really shine. I will definitely be back soon!!

We celebrated my son’s birthday with dinner at Rare and it was a wonderful experience. The wine was amazing and I highly recommend the filet. One of the highlights of our dinner was our server, Tori. We had a large group (8 people) and she was hands down one of the best servers we’ve ever had! She was attentive, patient, efficient and very accommodating. Be sure to make a reservation, especially on the weekends.
