We are a small specialty coffee roaster and bakery in the city of Falls Church, Virginia. Our name “Rare Bird Coffee Roasters” is based on the idea of celebrating the differences in both coffee and people. We created our shop to be a comfortable place to share our passion for high-quality coffee and food with friends, neighbors, and everyone who visits.
Chill, stylish coffee shop featuring seasonal espresso drinks, sandwiches & baked goods.

Great location in a pretty city. Atmosphere, with those plants was beautiful……I’m not sure if the customer service mantra is to be disinterested? If that’s the “vibe”, then cool. I ordered a flat white with oat milk. They didn’t have almond milk. The flat white was a tad bit above average. Would I come back? Yes, but only for the plants, seat, and coffee.

Long been my go to coffee shop. I regularly buy my beans from here. And I absolutely LOVE their gluten free biscotti- the way that I treat myself every so often; probably the best biscotti I’ve ever had.
Regarding the coffee beans- I use a French press on the daily; some batches of beans taste better than others- not always consistent in its roast; or it could be something I need to improve on my end with grind etc.

Real nice coffee roaster in Falls Church. Coffee tasted so good, people are very kind. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. The setting sun had a very strong glare, but there are blinds on the window.

They have absolutely great coffee and delicious baked goods, the biscuits sandwiches is so good. They have decent amount of dinning space. The Order line was kinda crazy during weekends, but the waiting time was kinda acceptable. Overall, great coffee place for some quick bites and they are featured local artists which is nice.

Fiancé and I wanted to stop in bc we’d read great reviews, and they didn’t exaggerate! We got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, Gen Mai Cha green tea, cardamom vanilla latte, and the cardamom kouign amann pastry. Definitely worth a long line on Saturday morning !

This is a quiet coffee shop, concealed in a corner of a street lined with other shops. There are so many arrays of house plants, lots of seating and even plenty of sunlight to make it feel cozy but also social at the same time. The food and coffee were pretty flavorful. We got an iced coffee and the vanilla cardamom iced latte with a cherry chocolate scone and spanakopita. If ever you’re free on a weekend-run, don’t walk to Rare Bird!

This is a DELIGHTFUL coffee shop, you can tell by the line that starts out the door. Their matcha is delicious! I watched them whisk it for me. the cardamom coffee was well balanced. Their pastries are bomb! the biscuit is good on it’s own so i know those sandwiches have to be great. The lemon blueberry earl gray cookie was well balanced and soft. coffee cake left some to be desired but had a yummy streak in it.

Immaculate vibes on a leisurely Monday.
Rare Bird was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. We drank a cardamom vanilla latte, iced dirty chai, and a nice big drip coffee. All exactly what we needed for a bit of pep in our step.
The sun dried tomato, goat cheese and egg biscuit sandwich was incredible and would have ordered 6 more. Delightful little shortbread cookie for a sweet treat. Noise level was great, a slight buzz but easy to work in or join a few friends.
Ample parking available behind the building

Had the wildest story! Met one of my friend’s sisters here after asking about her pro-Palestinian shirt and became friends with her. Had a great time; very kind people come here. Highly recommend it for the atmosphere and coffee.
They even roast their own onsite!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this coffee shop. The large windows let in lots of natural light and made it easy to people-watch the busy street outside, while the inside stayed calm and quiet. Everyone seemed to be reading or working—no loud conversations—which made it a peaceful spot to focus. I also loved the touch of greenery with the plants around the space. As for the coffee, I ordered a vanilla latte. It was fine—not bad by any means, just not a standout for me. Overall, a great place to sit and relax or get some work done.
