I went to 297 tonight for my birthday and I am so so happy about my experience here! Kenneth was our server and he truly made this the best birthday experience at a restaurant. He seemed like he genuinely wanted to make it feel special, and he did! Kenneth is truly a master of his craft 🙂

If you’re in the Pittsfield area, and enjoy fine dining, you have to try this place. It’s upscale but not pompous. The food was amazing. My filet mignon oscar was cooked to perfection for me. Our server Kenneth was very nice and very attentive.

We had a rare night out to celebrate our anniversary and this place does not disappoint! Our server Kenneth deserves a raise he went above and beyond was absolutely outstanding!!! You can tell he loves what he does and it made our night so enjoyable.
Our meals were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Both of our drinks were amazing as well. My wife is quite the connoisseur of the espresso martini and these guys knew how to make it perfectly. I had the smoked old-fashioned and besides the amazing presentation it was delicious!
My only recommendation for the ambience is for them to turn the house lights a little dimmer so it’s not so bright and in your face, but the music was perfect. All the best songs from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior were a perfect setting.

Kenny was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, He made us feel welcomed and taken care of. He was friendly, attentive, and had such a positive attitude the entire time. Our drinks stayed full, our food came out perfectly, and he made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask.
You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in his work. Kenny truly made our dining experience enjoyable, and we’ll definitely be back because of him. Highly recommend asking for him if you visit!

Service and atmosphere is amazing, but the food is underwhelming. We ordered a tomahawk steak for two and truthfully I don’t think it was a legitimate tomahawk. Steak wasn’t tender or terribly flavorful. Sides were also bland. For $150 I expected a much better meal. Overall just disappointing.

I visited this restaurant while on vacation with my sister and brother. Both had been here before and insisted we visit on my first skiing trip. I’m from the south so my hopes were high for the steakhouse experience while in town. And the Rare 297 steakhouse did not disappoint. Immediately, I was greeted and made to feel like I was an important guest. The atmosphere was classy and sophisticated but also casual and inviting. Our server, Kenneth, was also from the southern states so that was a fun detail I wasn’t expecting. He was well spoken and knew the menu so well. The wine selection was large and inclusive for any one ordering. While my brother and sister went for the steaks( which looked amazing), Kenneth helped me decide on the “surf and turf” which was not my usual type of dish. I can honestly say I’ve never had a better surf and turf anywhere I’ve traveled. It was exactly the right dish for what I was craving. I will never visit the area without stopping in for a fine meal and fine time at the Rare 297. It’s a staple for me now. Thank y’all for the experience.

Ashley is an awesome bartender who makes you feel welcome right away. She’s friendly, attentive, and really knows how to make a great drink, the espresso martini was honestly the best I’ve ever had!
I also tried the surf and turf off the specials menu and it was amazing. Between the food, drinks, and great service at the bar, the whole experience was top notch. Definitely recommend sitting at the bar and letting Ashley take care of you!

The food was spectacular, we ordered sushi as an appetizer and for me I ordered a surf and tort and it was spectacular. Without a doubt the best restaurant in the area. The service was 5 Stars, the waiter’s name is Roberto!!! I recommend this restaurant

Kenneth had an incredible knowledge of everything from the most obscure wines on the menu to the most perfectly curated cocktails. We had the best time chatting with him and enjoying an incredible meal. Thank you so much to Kenneth and the kitchen crew at 297! We enjoyed the perfectly rare filet and some of the best lamb chops we have ever had with the creamiest mashed potatoes and perfect vegetable accompaniments. Can’t wait to come back ❤️❤️
