Review for Rani’s Indian Dining

I recently visited Rani’s Indian Dining with two friends, making the 40-minute drive from Norwich to try their vegetarian offerings. While one of my friends wasn’t particularly excited about the experience, both my other friend and I genuinely enjoyed our meal.

The freshly cooked chapattis stood out as a highlight for all of us — they were tasty and clearly made with care. I ordered a share of King Naga vegetable, Gobi Bhaji, and Vegetable Biryani, which I thoroughly enjoyed. To wash it down, I had a refreshing glass of orange juice. Although together, our meal cost a reasonable £20 per person

The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our visit, adding to a pleasant dining atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable setting. Although parking can be challenging during busy periods, I personally had no trouble finding a space in their car park located at the rear of the building.

Overall, Rani’s Indian Dining is a great spot for flavorful vegetarian dishes and warm hospitality!

I have used Rani’s a lot in the past. Ordered today at 5:10pm. I called at 6:30 for an update. I was told he would find out and call me back. 20 minutes later I called again at 6:50 as I never heard back. I was told the driver has already left so will be here in 10 minutes. Over 30 minutes later I called again and asked to cancel the order. The guy initially was very nice and agreed to refund my order and I could keep the food as an apology. At this moment was when the driver arrived. I explained the driver is now here and he’s asking me what I want him to do and he will give me a discount next time I order. He’s not giving me a refund as “you’ve got your food” meanwhile I have the driver asking me for a delivery charge as they “should’ve charged it online” apparently. I told him to take the food back and refund me. Thoroughly disappointed with their service. I will say it is different when you eat in the restaurant (which is what I usually do) however I will no longer be a customer. Shame.

I will update further as to whether they refund me or I have to go through my bank.

Everything about this place was excellent from the moment we arrive to the moment we left. Service was efficient and friendly without being intrusive.
All food was top drawer, chat starter was really good and the Dhansak was one of the best I’ve had, hot and sour with the right amount of kick. All others meals very enjoyable too.
Definitely recommend it and will be back again next time we are visiting our friends nearby.

Ordered takeaway. Was not put off by £5 delivery charge as food arrived fast hot and was delicious. Next visit was in person with friends. Restaurant has parking at back. Friendly staff. Delicious meal. Clean.

What a gem of a place!
The staff were attentive and considerate delivering an efficient and polished service that made my dining experience a true enjoyment.
The food was fresh and delicious with options as you would expect for vegetarians.
Cleanliness was also great.
I would definitely visit here again when next in the area.

We have been recommended it and we absolutely enjoyed our evening and meal. Very welcoming and friendly service, great advise on food. I always like to try a different dish from chef specials and garlic and coriander tikka with mushroom rice was delicious! My husband had his usual mango curry and it was really good too. It will be definitely our favourite. Shame its winter and we couldn’t enjoy the meal on their outside area but something to look forward to in the summer. Very clean and nicely looking inside. Very impressed.

First time visit and the Last! Terrible Restaurant, do not come here!
The restaurant itself is very dated, could do with a total revamp and the quality of the toilets were poor.
The food itself was mediocre, portion sizes are very small and not worth the money. The bowls were like small cereal bowls, and you were only given three pieces of nann bread.
We received no checks back on the food, felt very rushed the whole service.
The manager himself, who was running it while the owner was away was very abrupt, he continued to shout orders
to other waiters across the restaurant.
However a lovely girl called Laura, who was front of house was very friendly and helpful, she served us our coffees at the end of the meal.
Our main issue was that we were UNAWARE as we were rushed at the start that you have to pay £3.50 for pickle, and £1 each for a single poppadom. When we sat down, we didn’t even get a chance to look at these prices and the waiter quickly rushed 9 poppadoms over with the dips and throughout our meal he kept bringing more over which was adding to our bill. This felt very strategic from them as they that we were unaware of the prices.
We complained about this to the manager, who was very rude and abrupt, he continued to raise his voice and remind us that he ‘worked here for 19 years’ which we couldn’t care less about really. He didn’t see anything wrong in the lack of communication of the prices, and how this would effect the rate of returning customers and recommendations. Overall, this was a very bad experience, I would recommend another Indian Restaurant as there are plenty of better ones in the area. I must also emphasise how overpriced it is here, it was not worth £30 per person which we calculated for one dish and one VERY SMALL rice and nann bread and on top of this soda water is £3.50 which is definitely out of pump which should be free as it is carbonated water. Do not come here!
