I recently visited Rani’s Indian Dining with two friends, making the 40-minute drive from Norwich to try their vegetarian offerings. While one of my friends wasn’t particularly excited about the experience, both my other friend and I genuinely enjoyed our meal.
The freshly cooked chapattis stood out as a highlight for all of us — they were tasty and clearly made with care. I ordered a share of King Naga vegetable, Gobi Bhaji, and Vegetable Biryani, which I thoroughly enjoyed. To wash it down, I had a refreshing glass of orange juice. Although together, our meal cost a reasonable £20 per person
The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout our visit, adding to a pleasant dining atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable setting. Although parking can be challenging during busy periods, I personally had no trouble finding a space in their car park located at the rear of the building.
Overall, Rani’s Indian Dining is a great spot for flavorful vegetarian dishes and warm hospitality!
I will update further as to whether they refund me or I have to go through my bank.
All food was top drawer, chat starter was really good and the Dhansak was one of the best I’ve had, hot and sour with the right amount of kick. All others meals very enjoyable too.
Definitely recommend it and will be back again next time we are visiting our friends nearby.
The staff were attentive and considerate delivering an efficient and polished service that made my dining experience a true enjoyment.
The food was fresh and delicious with options as you would expect for vegetarians.
Cleanliness was also great.
I would definitely visit here again when next in the area.
The restaurant itself is very dated, could do with a total revamp and the quality of the toilets were poor.
The food itself was mediocre, portion sizes are very small and not worth the money. The bowls were like small cereal bowls, and you were only given three pieces of nann bread.
We received no checks back on the food, felt very rushed the whole service.
The manager himself, who was running it while the owner was away was very abrupt, he continued to shout orders
to other waiters across the restaurant.
However a lovely girl called Laura, who was front of house was very friendly and helpful, she served us our coffees at the end of the meal.
Our main issue was that we were UNAWARE as we were rushed at the start that you have to pay £3.50 for pickle, and £1 each for a single poppadom. When we sat down, we didn’t even get a chance to look at these prices and the waiter quickly rushed 9 poppadoms over with the dips and throughout our meal he kept bringing more over which was adding to our bill. This felt very strategic from them as they that we were unaware of the prices.
We complained about this to the manager, who was very rude and abrupt, he continued to raise his voice and remind us that he ‘worked here for 19 years’ which we couldn’t care less about really. He didn’t see anything wrong in the lack of communication of the prices, and how this would effect the rate of returning customers and recommendations. Overall, this was a very bad experience, I would recommend another Indian Restaurant as there are plenty of better ones in the area. I must also emphasise how overpriced it is here, it was not worth £30 per person which we calculated for one dish and one VERY SMALL rice and nann bread and on top of this soda water is £3.50 which is definitely out of pump which should be free as it is carbonated water. Do not come here!
staff very helpful .
would highly recommend
