Social Profile:

Rania is a daring new vision that shatters stereotypes of what an Indian restaurant is and can be. Derived from the word “Queen” in Hindi and Sanskrit, Rania embodies the evolution of this 5000 year old cuisine into the 21st century. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Peter Boboris. While inventive and modern, Rania’s approach at its core is an homage to the time-honored Indian culinary traditions, rich flavors, and agriculturally diverse regions across the subcontinent.

High-concept Indian cuisine presented in an opulent, chandelier-lit setting with a romantic vibe.

My husband and I came for restaurant week and had a great meal / experience! The space is beautiful. The waitstaff attentive. And the food is wonderful – especially the Gobhi Manchurian, lamb shoulder and mango dessert. The cocktails are all made with eclectic ingredients — and, for some reason, Rania seems to have made a name for itself having Tiki Bar like presentations for each which feels odd for a Michelin star spot. My husband personally prefers a slightly new take on standards like an Old Fashioned – which these cocktails are not. I, however, really enjoyed my cocktail, Let it Snow. Really well balanced. We look forward to coming back

This is one of the few Indian restaurants with a Michelin star in the states; the very reason why I’ve been looking forward to visit for quite some time. Alas! It did not live up to the hype. I got a booth seat on my choosing which was really nice of the hostess :). In terms of the food, I decided to go with the 4 course menu option. Starting with Nargisi Kofta, the kebab was really good and perfectly made, but the swiss sauce accompanying it was definitely not fresh, maybe a day old I’d say; stale food tends to leave an aftertaste thats just hard to ignore. The next course was Lamb cheela, I love how they went all in with the spice and the lamb was tender, but again this time though the sauce was fine, it overpowered the dish instead of complementing it. Main course was the Parsi chicken and this was the only saving grace of the evening. I wanted to try something new and this was a homerun! Again the heat was tangible and just melodious to my senses. The sides however were alright, I’ve had better dal in local restaurants and the naan/rice were the usual so not much to add there.
Finally came the dessert; I got the Shrikhand mousse based on the reviews. It was just average and finishing it was a task, not that it was bad, but I’ve had way better desserts. I got an extra dessert- kesari mango and this was definitely better, still not the best. The mango, coconut and sesame flavours didn’t balance very well and they all played a different tune by themselves, still, I didn’t mind it. It was an ok experience.

This is truly indian fine dining. The venue is absolutely beautiful and intimate. The decor is mirrored and outstanding. We have a group event for full course meal. The food was definitely artistic and generally flavourful. The meat is halal.

We had a wonderful visit to Rania. We ordered the 7-couse chef’s tasting (vegetarian) with the wine pairing. We were served incredible, creative Indian dishes, both tasty and beautiful. In addition the wine pairing was an international journey – wonderful. Jonas our wine educator and Maitre d’ was great, and ensured a fantastic evening. BTW…we were stuffed. We will be back!

What a fantastic Michelin star experience! We got the 4-course menu. And I’m glad we did, it was our anniversary (late celebration) but the cocktails we got were top notch! Couldn’t try all of them on the menu, but I wish we could. Before our courses started we got a petite version of sabudana bad, which was delicious! After that all the good we got was just delicious! I would 100% recommend this place for a special occasion or just for a good date night!

Awesome experience. We did the chef’s tasting menu. Boy, was everything amazing. Ok, maybe one of the dishes was 4 star. But all else 5+.

Great service. Great cocktails. And awesome presentation of the food and drinks.

And come hungry. This menu is a lot of food. We were full before the main course. But they graciously packed it for us with sides.

And the desserts were awesome as well.

Maybe next time I’ll do the 4 course prix fix. Or not have lunch before coming for the chef’s tasting menu.

Really fun experience.

Delicious Indian food and my husband and I love Indian food so much that’s where we traveled for our baby moon. Speaking of baby, they were extremely thoughtful and kind about us traveling with our infant son (don’t worry we hit the blue bird hour to not totally bug fine diners!!). Wine list was excellent, ambience top notch, service impeccable. This is a must try if you’re in the area! Everything we tried (which was a lot) was a ten. Thank you for your attention to this matter

I booked this for my birthday and my husband and I did the 4 course experience. The food was simply okay. The flavors were not tasty in our opinion as we usually like lots of flavors, spices, and spicy. On the bright side, the presentation of the cocktails were amazing! Personally, won’t book again.

This was our third time here. The first two times I would have given 5 starts for everything, some of the most amazing food I’ve ever had with exceptional service. This time was disappointing. My husband and I booked dinner Friday night for our anniversary. We had booked the chef tasting menu for the first time and the reservation said to allow 2 hours. We also noted my husband’s allergies to nuts and seafood in the reservation notes.
When we arrived we were seated, thanked for joining on our special occasion and given the cocktail list. We mentioned the allergy, and our server was a little surprised, but checked the reservation and checked with the Chef and said it would not be a problem, my husband would just receive the vegetarian version for the seafood dishes.
We ordered our cocktail and the night started. It was a while before the first course came out but the restaurant was full with 2 bigger parties seated at either end of the room. The room was loud and I did feel closer to the diners on either side of me then my husband, but I was excited for the amazing food I had had before even if it did feel less intimate then I would like.
The courses start coming out with about 15 minutes between courses. My husbands are vegetarian, but no big deal I figured there was something he couldn’t have in mine and my first two are fish. The tuna tartare was ok, it lacked the normal complexity of the dishes I’ve come to expect, but the puffs served with it felt stale. My lobster ravioli was overcooked and lackluster as well. His vegetarian dishes were all wonderful.
Once we finished our cocktails they were cleared. In the past when we were 3/4 done our cocktails we had been asked about another, but this time we finished, they were taken and we had to flag someone down to order another, who then sent over our main server for us to order again.
The biggest disappointment was the 30+ minutes between the 3rd and 4th course where both tables on either side of us turned over and got their first dishes.
As we moved through the meal we realized that my husband was just receiving vegetarian for every meal.
The deserts were so sweet they were not enjoyable and not eaten and the caramelized fennel tasted burnt.
Overall we spent more money for less service and a disappointing meal, and we were there for over 3 hours. We were also herded to the bathroom every time you stood, like you couldn’t be trusted to find it on your own.

Celebrated two birthdays—mine with friends and my sister’s with family—at Rania, and it was such a special experience. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel taken care of: the service is genuinely kind and attentive, the cocktails are creative and delicious with their own unique twist, and the food—wow. We went with the 4-course tasting menu and shared everything, and every dish was outstanding. Highly recommend this spot!
