I really try to patronize my people and was hesitant about eating here. So, against my better judgment my party and I decided to wait until they opened. (Which was late) I ordered the shrimp and grits with crispy shrimp, it took about 30 minutes to get our order. One taste of the crispy shrimp I had to get out of my chair, back up and look at the dish. The shrimp were absolutely amazing, the flavor and crispiness took me back to Georgia where they fry them in seasoned corn meal not the standard batter. Now I knew I was going to Euphoria when I tasted the grits. The taste was beautiful but Screeeedch, they were cold! How can you ruin such a beautiful dish with cold grits. I mentioned it to the clerk and he just nodded his head yes. After about 30 minutes he still didn’t address the issue. So I went to the counter with my dish and told him my grits were cold. He looked inside snd said I’m sorry ma’am I can’t refund you or exchange your order because you ate one of the shrimp. Really????!!!! how do I know that the grits are cold if I don’t taste them??? “I’m sorry, ma’am , but I can’t give you a refund because you ate off of it “. well, can you at least put them in the microwave or bring me some hot grits “I’m sorry ma’am but I can’t right now. I’m too busy so where is the other guy that was working here somebody definitely was in the back although you can’t see them because I saw the guy when he opened up, he went in the back and never came out so I asked well can I speak to the manager? So my daughter-in-law placed an order because her gumbo fries were too spicy, and she can’t eat spicy food. Before I complained about my grits. She went to the counter and told them that the gumbo fries were too spicy and she couldn’t eat them because she couldn’t eat spicy food . And she also told them that they should note that the gumbo was spicy somewhere on the menu before someone orders, them so she had to end up buying something totally different. They would not compensate her. 45 minutes later still no manager. I went back to the counter and asked if I could speak to the manager “he’s not here“ well what happened to him? I never saw him leave so I said OK that’s it. I’m gonna go on social media. I thought this was gonna be my spot. The food is delicious. I even tasted gumbo fries. I didn’t have a problem with them because I like spicy. The other person in my party didn’t have any complaints about his food. He ordered the fried chicken breakfast he fell in love with the chicken. The food is very good very tasty, but the service sucks and to lose a customer over something so petty as cold grits shows that you care nothing about serving your customers, your just a lazy penny pinching tightwad. When God blesses you with a business you are required to be good servants over it. I cater and if something is not right with my cakes I’m gonna reimburse a patron or make them another one. I want my customers to have a pleasant experience. I spent $75 on breakfast and was gonna buy something to take home, but I always have this problem with black owned businesses. They always act like you’re trying to get over on them. I refuse to spend my money and then be treated like crap. The service sucks!

The shrimp and grits were amazing! We also had the fish, yams, mac n cheese, and collard greens, which were delicious as well. The only thing that I would critique is they need more help. The owner was very accommodating and was doing the best he could, but because of the long wait to order, he had some customers leave. With that being said, if you have patience and you don’t mind a wait, the food is amazing and worth the wait

Randy’s Chicken and Waffles offers an exceptional soul food dining experience from start to finish. The inviting atmosphere sets the perfect backdrop for their outstanding customer service, which makes every guest feel welcomed and valued.
During my visit, I tried their lobster gumbo fries, which were a standout dish that perfectly showcases their creative approach to soul food classics. The combination of flavors was impressive, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in their execution.
The menu offers tempting options like their oxtail plate, which is high on my list for my next visit. With their attention to both traditional soul food dishes and innovative combinations, it’s no surprise they’re drawing attention.
If you’re looking for authentic soul food served with genuine hospitality, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Based on my experience, it easily earns five stars.

The wait time is extremely long. I ordered shrimp and grits which were very very salty. The shrimp were so small I could barely see them. I also got the fried lobster bits and fries. The bits were salty the fries were the best thing I got. There are no exchanges or refunds. I recommend not eating here ever.

I got the gumbo fries because it looked good online. When we got it it was basically nothing but cheese. I had to take all the cheese on top off if I wanted to live and not have a heart attack or constipation. It tasted ok. The shrimp and grits were cool, the grits were really creamy. They definitely need better customer service. I didn’t mind the wait, about 30 minutes. I only saw one man there but he needs to work on his soft skills. It was our first time there and we were required to wait outside for our order because of Covid. But it was hot in there anyway so that was ok. However, when my daughter went in to see if the food was ready or how long it would be, he was rude and acted like he didn’t know what she was talking about, soft skills. They call you when the order is ready, we didn’t know that.

This place has completely fell off. When Randy’s was first introduced to the AV it was so good compared to now. The chicken lacks flavor and can tell it was fried in old grease. The yams aren’t cooked all the way through. Also the batter has changed on the chicken, it looks like it was fried in beer batter and completely ruined my appetite. 2/10

Worst chicken and waffle restaurant. Customer service sucked, no greetings, no how can I help you, instead I had to approach the person up front to let him know I was picking up an order an order they had no idea was placed because they did not check their system because their employee was having a whole conversation with a customer. I had to wait an extra 25 mins past my pick up time and the food I received was definitely not worth what I paid. The chicken looked as if it was from a batched previously made just thrown into the fryer for a second time. The waffles were not cooked all the way and their Mac n cheese had too much flour in the base.
