I was greeted and served by Chaney at the bar. She was amazing, informative and very friendly.
Started with the meatballs.
Order came with 4 medium sized meatballs, 4 slices of toasted (perfectly) bread.
Texture on meatballs was fantastic. Italian seasoning was a bit heavier than I would have liked however the sauce gave this balance. There was a significant amount of melted cheese I prefer a little less so the meatballs are the star! It was topped right before serving with fresh sliced Italian cheese. This was a great addition.
Pizza – I’ll start by saying this establishment has a wood-fire pizza oven. All pizzas here are 12″. Decided I would try the carne. The pizza came out amazing. There was a perfect amount of fresh toppings and the crust was perfect. I say this as I only had a couple bites so I could review while fresh and took away. Leftover reheated and crust remained crispy. A small amount of fresh parsley at the end would have pushed the flavor to the next level!
The atmosphere here is so quaint and comfortable with unique decor. Being able to sit at the bar and watch the pizza being made adds to the experience.
It’s very evident the owners ensure they are hiring individuals who want to be there and have a level of passion for it. It’s displayed on their interactions and the quality and flavor of the food.
VERY highly recommend!
My wife and I had the Fungi and the Carne pizza. Those two could not be more different in their taste, but both were perfect. The crust takes you to downtown Rome, and the flavors reduce your speech to monosyllabic communication, such as: “mmm” and “wow.” Both pizzas are strong, intense, crunchy, and tasty. I would highly recommend this place. The music is at the right volume and well-chosen. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is irresistible.
We tried one of Rancho’s Salads, and it was awful. But who cares? The restaurant’s name is Rancho Pizza and not Rancho Salad, right?
