The black beans were so flavorful. Plantains were tasty and not greasy. Sautéed veggies cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned.
Service as expected for a casual spot. Prompt with drink refills etc. Def on my rotation moving forward.
For the food, we ordered the whole fried tilapia, a fried grouper fillet, an iron beer (Cuban version of coke)— and everything came just about $40. That price in the downtown of Savannah is unbelievable. Huge portions too. Photo of Tilapia with husband’s hand for scale, the Grouper, and the aftermath 🙂
More importantly, the foods were actually really tasty. Fishes were seasoned well. Sweet plantains were a nice touch of sweetness to the savory fish. And the garlic bread they gave in house… chef’s kiss!
Plus, they got live music and friendly servers. We were there for 1.5 hours and witnessed 3 birthday celebrations by the servers and the band. Service can be a bit slow due to how packed it is, but just set your expectations especially for weekend nights.
It says on the menu that the paella takes about 40 minutes to prepare, but it actually came out a bit quicker than expected, and I was completely satisfied.
If you’re visiting Savannah, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!
