The food here hits average for me. I give it 3 stars because the other stockyard cafe (idk if there are more than two) has undeniably better quality food. Calf-A has a grilled Steak (8oz NY Strip) and Eggs whereas the other place doesn’t. But it was kind of a let down, being too thin which made it harder to get a proper medium rare (cutting into it, one side was cooked more than the other). It made me have more appreciation for the other style of 8oz cut (petite) as it is thicker and has less gristle. The operating hours are also strange, geared more towards people with specific schedules (probably aligned with the stockyard operations) than the general public. Also preferred my eggs scrambled a little less hard than they were.

The jalapeño cheese sticks, fried pickles and BBQ sauce were amazing! The rest of the food was decent. It was frustrating to have menu options that were no longer available (chili cheese fries), and the cheese fries were disappointing.
The service was great. Our server was friendly, lots of smiles, and she checked on us a few times.
The atmosphere was lacking. There weren’t any decorations, the walls were empty, no ambiance at all.

Just had the Ribeye. Wonderful. Waitress was very nice and awesome. She was telling me about the fact they are in the works for being open for dinners again and bringing in desserts also. That will be great. Highly recommended.

The waitress was very slow and couldn’t remember anything. Some of the food was burnt. Some in our group got food right away while others got theirs at the end of our meal. Food destined for another table got served to our table. It’s unorganized.
