Nice little charming restaurant that’s well worth the trip. I have a smothered steak that was very good! Baked potato was on point. Service is punctual without being over bearing. We ordered some deep fried mushrooms and they were delicious. I would certainly come back here and highly recommend you give it a try.

We pulled up expecting gas station jerky vibes and left questioning all our life choices… how is this steakhouse this good in the middle of Yuba?! The steak was perfection, the service was friendlier than my grandma on Sunday, and now we’re spoiled.

Dallas was an amazing waitress. Very helpful with all needs. I was there for my birthday. My sister arrived late to the party and she even held her salad in the fridge until she got there. Her and others attention to detail was great! All the food was delicious! No complaints from anyone about their food.

I went for my birthday dinner with a group of 6 people. The food was excellent. I ordered the cow tips, it was delicious. The meat was very tender and the sauce was outstanding. The service, on the other hand, was awful. I asked the waitress 3 times for a side of mayonnaise to add to the very bland mashed potatoes. She never brought it out. My drink glass was empty for awhile before she refilled it. My sister ordered a steak that they overcooked twice. This is my 3rd time at The Ranch House, and all the visits were awful. I went there because I heard that they were under new ownership, but the service hasn’t changed. Sad to say I will never go back!

The atmosphere is quaint only to be outdone by the friendly servers who live their job and welcome you with a smile. The food is outstanding, it must be if I am willing to drive over fifty miles just to eat there. The Prime Rib was succulent and cooked to perfection, the ribs almost fell off the bone but it was so flavorful it didn’t matter. I split my meal with my friend because the servings are so generous. It was my second time there and I am not disappointed

Wanted to find a place to take my dad out for his birthday, which wasn’t too fancy, but had good food and a good selection. This place seem to fit the bill.

We were seated right away, but it was midweek, so not sure what it might be like on busy nights. Our server, Ivy, came to our table right away to get our drink order. Later we had questions about the menu and she was a wealth of information, and obviously knew the menu well. Her service was awesome and very attentive.

My dad ordered the Steak Sandwich. It was fairly large. And it was a real Steak not some chopped up meat. He ordered it plain but you can get various goodies added to it. He ordered the salad with it instead of the fries, so can’t comment on the fries. He loved it!

I ordered the Filet Mignon with the garlic mashed potatoes side and brandy cream sauce. I asked for it medium rare. It was cooked to perfection! Which is a huge deal for me. As many restaurants can’t get that right. The Steak was super tender, as it should, and that sauce was amazing. I would order that again in a heartbeat! The potatoes were really good too. The veggies that were served with it were alright. I think they could have been seasoned a little better. I think they were steamed, which isn’t my favorite way to cook veggies. But that aside, it was a great meal.

For dessert, my dad got the carrot cake. He really liked it. Because it was a large slice, he only ate half and took the rest to go.
I ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake. Which came with a few scoops of ice cream and whip cream. It was a lot, but so good. I ate it all. Ha ha

Why only 4 stars if everything was so good? I have high standards for 5 stars. There was one element that was not ideal. We were sat at a booth, by my request. But the booth we were sat at was at the end of the row. Which meant the spacing between the table and the seat was extremely large. If I were a large person, I can see being seated there. But my dad and I are fairly normal sized people. As it was, I adjusted the table so it was a normal spacing for him. As a result, I had to sit at the edge of the bench and the table was still far away from me. Very awkward way to eat. I would have asked for a different table, but it’s not easy for my dad to get up.

Bottom line, I’d be happy to go back. I actually can’t wait. There were a number of items on the menu I want to try.

The 16 oz sirloin was extraordinary. every bite melted in my mouth and it was made exactly right, medium well with a little charring on the edges. I savored it in a way I haven’t done in years. almost don’t want to write this review if it will cause more people to go. 🙂 This is like a secret oasis in the outskirts of Yuba City. recently remodeled. not a farmer’s steakhouse. it would compete head-to-head with any high-end restaurant in Sacramento. Don’t expect low prices just because it’s out of the way. it’s priced appropriately for the quality of the food and service. I’m happy I found this place. p.s. Dallace was a wonderful server.

We were there when they first opened, first timers. Were seated and served quickly. Should have asked more questions. Prime rib was way too big and cooked too much for me, paid 50$ for it it should have been cooked to perfection. Waitress did not check back for awhile as the restaurant was filling up, so I did not get a timely chance to let her know it was not good. Everything else was good.

We were told there would be a 30-minute wait, which turned into over an hour with no clear communication and no end in sight. During that time, multiple parties who arrived after us were seated first.

I had three young children with me, and while other waiting guests were offered water or alcoholic beverages, no one offered anything to us—adults or kids. That lack of consideration stood out.

When I politely asked for updates, the staff member either walked away mid-conversation or gave vague, dismissive answers that clearly weren’t accurate.

Mistakes happen. Long waits happen.
But poor communication, favoritism, and dismissive service don’t need to.

Unfortunately, this was a frustrating experience, and we won’t be returning. Save yourself the trip.

Another outstanding dinner! Bleu cheese bread was delicious. For my entree, I pivoted from my usual steak and went for a Bacon Bleu burger, no bun, with Bry fries- cooked perfect MR and was delicious. Creme brulee with a Basil Hayden for dessert was excellent.
