Perhaps the best seafood restaurant at La Punta, Callao.

Recently completely refurbished, or rather re-build, the Rana is back in the game! It used to be called “La Rana Verde” (don’t understand why and when they changed its unique brand name).

Even the waiters (some from the 80,s) have been replaced. We enjoyed the hospitality of very lovely and attentive Claudia from Cuba!

Due to its very unique setting and good seafood it is worth a visit. Set on top of the ocean, it also invites for a nice stroll along the ocean front of La Punta. This historic district can no be reached safely in 29 minutes from San Isidro or Miraflores along the new coastal road.

Unimpressed. While the food is definitely fresh and well-presented, we found it to be some of the blandest ceviche and arroz con mariscos we have had. At this quality, the menu is significantly overpriced. The servers held up their end of the bargain and offered quick and accurate service for our huge party. View is also great. Maybe just stop there for drinks.

This place is a hidden gem to most explorers I’m sure, if it wasn’t for a local there no way I would have arrived at this wonderful seaside restaurant.

Over priced, overrated, food portions are small. Ceviche de conchas negras was not good. They sell their “own water” S/.15 a bottle.and don’t give you any other options so basically forcing you to buy theirs. A small glass of chicha was S/.14 (which they didn’t even bring it to the table, luckily). No kids menu. And they charge a “service fee”.

Food is just good, not exquisite but it’s fresh, best of all is the view and it’s not expensive, plate is between $15 and $20

I assumed the location had changed but the owner’s response below tells what has happened. But PLEASE … update the listing here on Google Maps to indicate that you are temporarily closed. And put a notice on your webpage to say that you are temporarily closed. I remembered your restaurant from my previous visit to Lima seven years ago and wanted to eat there again. But if I had known you were closed I would not have wasted my time to come from Lince to Callao.

I’ve known this place for over 30 years. It was recently remodeled and is even better now. Love the food and the pisco sour. Plus, nothing beats the view. Mariana was very mindful, very demure, and always happy to help. Best place in Callao.

It was nice but not the best food of it’s style. The bicolor tiradito was incredible but the Chicharrón of fish eggs was on the dry side. The grilled tuna was overdone, over cooked and dry. A couple of the waiters were fluent in English and very helpful when ordering from the menu. However the views right next to the ocean are simply put awesome
