The service at Ramsey Curry King is no less than excellent—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making every visit feel personalized and welcoming. The atmosphere perfectly complements the dining experience, offering an authentic and warmly inviting space that transports you straight to the heart of Indian culture.
This hidden diamond in the rough is absolutely worth checking out for anyone seeking remarkable Indian cuisine paired with outstanding service and environment. A definitive 5-star experience in my opinion and I recommend hands down-
Bring your own so keeps an excellent price point. Staff are friendly and service is quick.
I went to Ramsey Curry King and had a really good time.
For starters we had poppadoms. They were crispy and tasty, with dips on the side. The mango chutney was sweet and nice, the red onion chutney was sweet with a bit of a kick and very tasty, and the mint yogurt was refreshing.
For mains we ordered a few curries. The Pathia curry was sweet and sour with a bit of spice, with plenty of sauce and meat. The Nagu curry was EXTREMELY spicy but full of flavour. The Tikka Masala was mild, creamy, and sweet — one of my favourites. The Sagwala curry with spinach was also very tasty.
We had some breads too. The Garlic Naan had a good garlic taste, the Tandoori Roti was a simple flatbread that went well with the curries, and the Peshawari Naan was sweet with raisins and tasted great.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we got.
Overall, Ramsey Curry King has great food, good service, and good value. I’ll be coming back.
Will not go back
Positives:
– food came really quickly
– portion was very good, full containers
– poppadum and dip selection good, included lime pickle
Improvement areas:
– the madras was strangely sweet. It was hot/spicy and sweet, which I’ve never had with a madras. Was quite a strange sweetness almost like pineapple.
– Some of the chicken Tikka chunks were dry, hard and difficult to cut through. Chewy.
– £1 per poppadum is very expensive in my book. Many Indian restaurants give 1 or 2 free poppadums with a main.
I will try again but probably a different dish. I wish them the very best of luck opening after two curry houses just closed. Definitely recommend cooking the chicken differently to keep moisture in and avoid them going hard/dry.
