I came into the Harlingen area to pay homage to my mom and pop who lived in nearby San Benito. I dropped by Ramses Tacos and Tequila on a recommendation from a close friend of mine, and Ramses delivered on all points. From the ice cold bottled Estrella Jalisco beer to the wonderfully season chips and salsa they serve you as you site down. With bar seating, tall tables and standard tables available, I chose to base myself at a very comfortable table with an awesome view of the entire restaurant. I decided to invite a friend of mine to lunch and so being my first time here, I had to try their shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. Ramses offers a small and a large serving…I opted for a small seeing as how I planned on ordering a full lunch. The Shrimp were perfectly cooked and were a medium sized. The cocktail sauce was seasoned deliciously, not over poweringly sweet at all. It is topped off with avocado and served with crunchy chips. Our waitress suggested the Bomba Tacos…these come in an order of 5 and they are filled with bistek, avocado, cilantro and onion(Foodie Tip: ask them for grilled onions, and they’ll make em for you!). I was convinced once i saw that this Bomba taco plate comes with rice and beans! The plate is nicely served and I filled up with my order! Conveniently located off of Sunshine strip, minutes away from Valley Baptist medical center and I-69, drop by Ramses for some tacos next time you are in the Harlingen area, where there are 2 locations!

Disappointed this place doesn’t have more five star reviews. It is such a great place with a great ambiance. Friendly staff. Clean. Very nicely decorated. I was very impressed by all of the food. The ceviche was Super fresh, the tacos were amazing so were the beans.

I wouldn’t even give this place a one star if I could only right my review! Food is cold NO FLAVOR it was a party of 6, I had these enchiladas and they were so gross! You can clearly see the sauce been cold.. the small piece of fajita has absolutely NO SEASON SALT NOTHING!!2 plates came in first and rest like 30 minutes later, it was a kids simple cheeseburger and chicken strips and took very long for just that.. server was great and very atento to us.. tip was also included which I honestly think it shouldn’t be due to food not being served as it should with everyone else! I paid $180 for simple tacos two kids meals fountain drinks 1 appetizer! RIDICULOUS! ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY ITS ABOUT HOW HORRIBLE THE FOOD IS AT THIS PLACE!!!

Great breakfast spot! We ordered a Mexican breakfast with sunny side up eggs, beans, potatoes, and fresh tortillas, everything tasted amazing and full of flavor. The portions were huge, more than I could finish. Our waitress was super friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely a place worth trying if you’re in the area! ☀️

Had the appetizer chicharron(pork belly) and guac very generous portions, couldn’t finish but two people can eat it for $17.99 chips and hot sauce served warm while we waited (taste better warm), tea($3.25) was great tasting too and we were served charro beans with a distinctive taste they had a nice smoky flavor will definitely go back.

I never imagined the Ramses is Brownsville could be as good as the original, but it is. They have plenty of parking, pleasant wait staff. We stayed for almost an hour after finishing dinner and the waitress continued to tell drinks, chips and salsita. The atmosphere inviting, the food was delicious and the price are still reasonable, especially given the large portions.

Went on 11/24/25, to celebrate my birthday, must start with the layout of the place. It’s really nice and the tv’s are awesome, no complaints there, excellent. My wife and I ordered the mar y tierra and it took over an hour for us to get the food while people at our table got their food right away. The fajita was so, so a bit tough. My wife’s drink and old fashion was weak at best. Our waiter had a great attitude but would take forever to bring us drinks. 4 of our kids joined us for dinner and we paid over $340.00. We know we’re going to pay a pretty penny but at least give us good service and good food for what we get. Had great expectations and friends had highly recommended the establishment so we we’re greatly disappointed, can’t recommend it.
