Our server, Zach, was fantastic. He was super attentive and helpful without ever hovering. Service like that really makes a difference.
It’s definitely on the pricey side, but the portions are generous and the quality is outstanding, so it feels totally worth it. Every dish was beautifully made and full of flavor.
If you’re looking for a special meal that’s worth every penny, this is the place.
There is tons of parking via a parking lot in the rear. You can easily reserve tables online. The food is superb for the price. The place has light background music, but overall you will never have to raise your voice to talk to people. It’s not very loud.
All the appetizers we tried were great! The shishito peppers and tuna tartare are easy recommendations. The bread was good, but the butter wasn’t seasoned in any way. I would pass on that next time.
The beef wellington and lamb were amazing. My only experience with beef wellington was on cruise ships, and it was so tender, juicy and full of flavor it makes the cruise ship beef wellington look like a McDonald’s hamburger. The lamb was insanely juicy, perfectly cooked and seasoned. You only needes a butter knife to cut through it.
For our group of six, from walking through the entrance to leaving was just under two hours. It was a very well paced meal.
Sticky chicken wongs – 8/10. Loved the mango flavoring and toppings.
Potato leek soup – 7/10. Probably because I didn’t realize I’m not a fan of leeks.
She had fish and chips, and it was bloody huge. No photos, unfortunately. 8/10. The burger was juicy and well-made. 8/10.
But the dessert! Oh boy, the sticky coffee pudding was insanely good. I would go there and pay the full price of the meal just to get the dessert. 10/10
Oh btw. The tv was not working, with a wonky overlay. Not that I wanted to watch tv. But the overlay was kinda underwhelming.
Or server was very nice but she might have been doubling as the bartender also. There was other waitstaff that came to attend to us when our server was busy. They were all very pleasant.
This place has several menus including two prix fixe menus, one served all day and an express lunch one.
We started with the Spiced Pear Revival cocktail and it was delicious! I ordered from the express lunch menu ($50) and my wife ordered from the all day prix fixe menu ($90). Both of our meals came with a soup or salad, an entree and a dessert. We both went with the leek soup to start and we ordered the crab cake as an appetizer. The leek soup looked good but was bland and had a peculiar texture. The crab cake was lights out delicious!! It was the size of a hockey puck with a white sauce that was similar to a tzatziki and came with a citrus salad that had a wonderful flavor. This dish could be a lite lunch if you wanted it to be. My wife had the beef wellington that came with a potato puree and some root vegetables. The beef wellington melted in your mouth and the sides were good. I had the steak frites. It was a skirt steak with chimichurri sauce served with fries and a spicy aioli. Half the steak was overcooked and half was just right. I grew up eating a little more well done steak so it wasn’t the end of the world, but… still. The fries were seasoned very well.
For dessert my wife had the sticky toffee pudding which was actually date cake with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce. They put a lit candle in it to help us celebrate my wife’s birthday, which was actually nice touch. I am not the biggest fan of dates, but this dish tasted like Christmas to me. I would highly recommend it. I had the apple butterscotch cheesecake. It was delicious but very rich. We shared both desserts but could have easily shared just one and would have been satisfied.
It was about $300 for the two of us when everything was all said and done. I would probably come back, they had some other items on the menu that I would like to try.
