The entire experience was quite enjoyable and we will most definitely be returning to try some other items on their menu.
We came in with high expectations for Ramsay’s Kitchen and left wondering what exactly we paid for. I ordered the risotto with chicken and it was oddly acidic to the point that it was hard to enjoy. The meatballs tasted like they could have been heated straight from frozen. Someone at our table ordered a steak and said it was “decent,” but certainly nothing worth the premium price tag. The rolls were honestly the best part of the meal, and that says a lot. Even the mac and cheese was completely forgettable.
On top of the underwhelming food, the service was some of the worst we’ve had in a long time. Our waiter was not attentive at all, and it genuinely felt like our food was forgotten based on his comments when it finally arrived. We were there for two hours, most of that time just waiting. We’ve had far better meals and far better service elsewhere for half the price. Where they sat us in the back was also very cold for everyone.
For the cost and the expectation attached to Gordon Ramsay’s name, this experience was a major letdown. We were not impressed and won’t be back.
This was our first time dining at Ramsay’s Kitchen in Danville and it absolutely blew us away. We started the night with a Whiskey Sour and a few other cocktails—every drink had incredible flavor and was crafted perfectly.
For appetizers, the Sticky Chicken Wings and the Parker Rolls are an absolute must-have for the table. The wings were packed with flavor and the rolls were warm, soft, and unforgettable.
Moving into the mains, the Caesar Salad was large enough for two people to share comfortably. My wife ordered the Crispy Skin Salmon, which was truly chef’s kiss perfection. I went with the 8-ounce Filet Mignon and added a lobster tail on top. Let me tell you—the side of melted butter for dipping the lobster and the steak took everything to the next level. We were already talking about coming back before we even finished the meal.
To top it all off, we ended with a Salted Caramel Espresso Martini, which was the perfect finishing touch to an amazing dinner.
Highly recommend this spot—phenomenal food, great drinks, and a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be returning!
We went on a Saturday afternoon—without realizing we needed a reservation. Rookie mistake. It is a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, after all. As a result, we waited about 45 minutes for a table for two.
I ordered the fish and chips after seeing countless YouTubers rave about Gordon Ramsay’s version. When it arrived, I couldn’t wait to dig in. Visually, it was very appetizing: the batter was a beautiful golden brown—not burnt, not greasy. It was extremely crunchy without being hard, and the batter-to-fish ratio was just right. The crust covered the fish evenly, and the fish itself was hot yet still moist.
That said, in my opinion, it could have used a bit more seasoning. However, once I dipped it into the tartar sauce—WOW. That tartar sauce was outstanding. It truly elevated the dish and made the fish shine. The potato wedges were also nicely fried: crispy without being oily or dry. Again, they could have used more seasoning, but ketchup helped make up for that.
My husband ordered the brunch burger, which featured a generous double patty cooked perfectly. He wasn’t a fan of the runny egg and wished he had ordered it over hard, as it made the bun quite soggy. Still, all the components came together well—the cheese, bacon, aioli (we skipped the onions) complemented each other nicely, and nothing overpowered the rest.
The fries arrived in a small metal cup, which initially seemed like a small portion. However, paired with the massive burger, it ended up being plenty. The fries were cooked perfectly: not greasy at all, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—but again, lacking seasoning. A touch of Old Bay would have been fantastic.
We definitely didn’t leave hungry. That said, the food is a bit overpriced. One small disappointment was the “house water,” which had a slightly sour, tap-water taste. At these prices, filtered water would be expected.
The service and ambiance contributed positively to the experience. However, if we return, I’d prefer not to be seated next to the bar. I’d enjoy a more private table—chalk it up to the introvert in me.
Would we go back? Maybe. The food is pricey. But then again… I still need to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding!!!
✨ Food highlights:
• The warm rolls and butter were the perfect start.
• The shrimp appetizer was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right.
• The meatballs and crab cake were rich, fresh, and delicious.
• And the dessert—especially the chocolate tart with caramelized bananas—was unbelievable. Easily one of the best I’ve had!
The staff made the experience even better with their friendliness and attention to detail. The vibe is upscale but still cozy and comfortable.
If you’re thinking about going—do it. Totally worth it!
