I was craving some Caribbean food so I decided to stop by here. I’ve been here multiple times but haven’t visited much since I don’t live as close anymore. Overall, I think thr food was pretty good. I had the oxtail and it was very flavorful with a nice gravy. The rice was suffice but nothing special and the plantains were fine as well.

I also decided to have their rum cake and this was also really delicious. I like my cake a little more on the dryer side with a little bit of moist. Essentially more like a pound cake with a little less rum in terms of the liquid, not the taste per se. There’s a Caribbean spot not too far down the road off of Laurel-Bowie that I’d like to try for comparison purposes so we’ll see how that goes.

The picture speaks for itself :/ waste of my money. I was so pissed. Rice was mushy and salty. Oxtails were tender but lacked flavor. It had salt though. Ended up just eating the 4 pieces of oxtail and threw the rice away. Couldn’t eat it.

I ordered fritters and peanut punch. These fritters are just dough and spices there is zero cod fish in them and I’ve never seen them in balls . That peanut punch is the worse I’ve ever had. While I didn’t expect my granny’s food but I didn’t expect to completely waste $14. It’s a no never again for me.

Atmosphere was welcoming and clean, the staff was friendly. Period. I paid $18 for oxtail and I received mostly rice and peas you can see the picture. The macaroni and cheese and fried chicken was VERY dry. Curry chicken was okay But as it was mostly veggies, I was still hungry after eating.I will not be returning and would not recommend the fried chicken, oxtail or Mac and cheese.

First of all the watermelon refresher is a must try!!!

The jerk chicken wings were a flavorful delight, with a perfect blend of spices that tingled the taste buds. The exterior had a satisfying crispiness, while the meat remained juicy and tender. The bold jerk seasoning provided a nice kick without overpowering the dish. Overall, a delicious and well-executed take on chicken wings with a Caribbean twist.

The hot honey chicken paired with red velvet waffles was a delightful fusion of sweet and savory flavors. The chicken had a perfect balance of heat and sweetness, complemented by the rich and slightly sweet red velvet waffles. The combination created a unique and indulgent experience that left a memorable impression. A creative and delicious take on a classic dish.

I’m very disappointed as this was the first time in person ordering from this establishment. My friend and I ordered the jerk wings and a salmon meal. The young lady at the counter was so focused on being ready to leave that our items were incorrect, we waited 30 minutes just to come and wait more because she didn’t place the order for the wings. In addition, the food was not tasty.. the salmon with sweet chili sauce was dry, the rice and peas ( which was supposed to be steamed cabbage ) was overcooked and had a ton of sweet chili sauce on it, and the plantains were soggy and undercooked. The jerk wings ended up being a jerk chicken platter which isn’t what we asked for and that was a disappointment as well. As I mentioned before this was our first here and probably our last. I wanted to like this place but the lack of customer service and food quality were a turnoff. We’ll stick to D & G Caribbean Grill.

I ordered Jerk with rice, peas and cabbage. The Jerk was not an authentic jerk. I’m not sure why it’s called Jerk. It’s slightly spicy and very sweet and over powers any jerk seasoning. It tastes More like BBQ chicken. It’s the first time I’ve had jerk with a sweet sauce. I don’t like sugar in my savory foods. It’s not healthy or even needed and if you are diabetic don’t get this dish. Most foods don’t need sugar to taste good. The rice and peas and cabbage are ok. Id try the place again and will certainly ask about the sugar content prior to ordering.

The service was good and quick

I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Despite the establishment loudly playing gospel music, the cashier had a noticeably rude attitude, which made the interaction uncomfortable. I also requested a substitution for roti instead of rice and peas, but when I got home, I discovered they had given me 4 plain wheat tortillas instead. The lack of attention to detail and customer service was frustrating. I expected better quality and service, but sadly, I won’t be returning.

Best Jamaican food spot in Maryland. I have had everything on the menu at least once and the food is authentic. Seasoning on point. Jerk pork…jah jah!! Mouth-watering…I felt like I was eating jerk on the roadside on Spur Tree! The price is high…but worth every single penny!
