I have been here 10+ times in the last 3 years. It’s one of my favorite Japanese restaurants for lunch (usually that’s when I go) and they have a good discounted lunch menu. The food is always consistent and good which makes recommendation to friends easier. Although Ramen is in the name of the restaurant, their rice dishes are also good, especially the pork chashu. Otherwise I usually get the spicy pork or the black garlic ramen. They have different spicy levels from mild to super spicy but as a Thai, level 3 is a medium for me. The service is prompt and cheerful and the owner is friendly.
Parking can be a challenge because that shopping center is very active.
I do recommend this place if you are craving for Ramen and you lived around north Fremont and Union City, why go anywhere else.

I noticed a strong smell of moldy basement in the restaurant, the servers are nice and orders came quick. I had the pork dark oil Ramen and we shared the tofu apps. My cousins had chicken tonkatsu curry and salmon bowl and they loved it. The portions were good and struggled to finish. The ramen noodles were good and right consistency and broth is not too salty it’s just right

Enjoyed our visit here. Wife got the katsu curry – nice sized portion. Nice crispy crunchy texture on the chicken katsu. She asked do extra spicy and they delivered. I got the Kuro ramen had good flavor – better like garlic. Super friendly and attentive service. Would come back to try some of their other dishes.

It’s peak! I also had the ramen here it’s at least top 5 Japanese foods in this culinarily barren land (aka Fremont). Tad bit pricy cuz I’m a student but like whatever the food is good

When I’m in the area, it’s my favorite Japanese restaurant for lunch or dinner.
Food is always consistent, hot and delicious. I usually get the spicy ramen along with some side dishes. Luckily, they have different spicy levels from mild to super spicy.
Service is prompt and cheerful. I highly recommend Ramen Shu when you have a hankering for Japanese food.

Food: it’s a very decent ramen place. The flavor is balance, and you’re able to taste all the ingredients. I love that they offer a very nice quality broth, noodles, a whole egg and chashu with the price.
Service: all staff are warm and smiley! We came at a very late time but they are very genuine and helpful during the whole dining experience.
Ambiance: simple and clean Japanese style interior. Not too much and comfortable.

The veggie ramen didn’t have any flavor and I had to season it with a lot of the garlic seasoning at the table. The veggie gyoza was bland as well.

We came to Ramen Shu for my birthday dinner, and they were incredibly accommodating—even with our last-minute reservation. The service was genuinely wonderful; everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcomed on a special night.
The food was delicious, and I really appreciated how thoughtful they were in accommodating my vegan husband. They offered great options for him without making it feel complicated, which made the whole experience even better for our family.
Overall, we had such a great time here. If you’re looking for good ramen, great service, and a team that goes the extra mile, I definitely recommend Ramen Shu!

I’ve been ordering from here for years until I realized how close I lived and finally ate at the restaurant. I went twice in the same week, it’s really that good. The service is amazing, they even recognized us from earlier in the week. The staff is super friendly, and the food is delicious. Not pictured is the side salad that also came with the curry, it was so good we forgot to snap a picture. The salad dressing is perfect.

I went there around 7pm yesterday and ordered the Aka reman. Level 3 wasn’t that spicy! It had a strong garlic flavor because there was a lot of garlic in it! It was pretty tasty overall, and the staff were very friendly!!
