Tip: Not sure how long it’ll last, but they’re having a grand opening promotion where you can get a free Gyoza or Karaage Chicken with any entree. Also $2 boba. It’s a nice bonus to check them out.
* Tonkotsu Ramen (Mild Spicy) 5/5 – Tonkotsu was a full bodied pork bone broth with a lot of flavors, enhanced by the mild spiciness. The pork was thinly cut and charred. It was a bit tougher than I’d like. The noodles were tasty. They only had the thin noodles; it’d be nice if they had a thicker, chewier version. The ramen also came with a yummy soft boiled egg.
* Miso Ramen (Medium Spicy) 3.5/5 – The miso ramen had a chicken broth base and came with chicken instead of pork. It tasted average. The broth was quite plain in flavor. It was like a clear miso broth that’s spicy (not a flavorful ramen broth).
* Gyoza 4/5 – Deep fried gyoza that were tasty and crispy.
* Karaage Chicken 4/5 – Pretty good crispy deep-fried chicken.
Pros: Spice level started mild but built nicely as I enjoyed, a warm spice and not over whelming. Broth flavor was perfectly savory/rich balance and this was the most chashu pork I have ever had in a bowl, three rather large pieces. Inside was spacious and clean with tables being cleared as quickly as the staff could which was nice to see. And ample parking in the back of the building.
Cons: Maybe I’m getting old, but the music was just wayyyy too loud. I put in my noise canceling AirPods and it was still too loud. While there was a great amount of pork, it wasn’t evenly cooked with some parts being perfectly charred and some that translucent white fat. I didn’t eat most of it unfortunately. Also, the broth to noodle ratio was off. By the time the broth was gone I still had a ton of noodles. The egg… my favorite part(!!) it was good, but a little over cooked. I wanted that perfect jammy egg and it was just a minute over done.
All that being said, I will definitely be back and excited to see them refine some things!!
The karaage was tasty but could use a bit more seasoning. The gyoza was great and the ponzu sauce was bright and flavorful.
The thai tea and taro were decent, the thai tea slightly better. For the $2 price during the soft opening promotion they are a good deal.
We would definitely come back again to try their sushi offerings if we can’t both agree on ramen.
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen spicy, and to be honest, the spice level was extremely weak — I’d rate it at about a 2 out of 10 at best. It barely had any heat at all. When my order arrived, I also noticed vegetable particles in the ramen, even though I specifically requested NO vegetables. That was already frustrating.
What disappointed me most was that even after eating the ramen and adding extra spicy flakes, it still didn’t get spicy. The heat just wasn’t there. I was really hoping to see what level of spice this place could offer, but it fell very short of expectations.
The broth itself was fine, but if you’re someone who loves actual spicy ramen, this place may not satisfy you. I came in excited to try their spicy level, and left feeling let down.
