Nice clean and modern restaurant. Staff seem a bit busy hanging out with their friends at the restaurant. We ordered the Okonomiyaki both the beef and the veggie and they were both excellent and tasted very similar to the ones we ordered in Japan. Of course our preference is the Hiroshima style which has the noodles which Ramen House does not carry. We also ordered the popcorn chicken which is supposedly excellent but we thought it was ok and not as crunchy as we’d like. Service was just ok but we’ll be back for the Okonomiyaki!!!

Nice savory comfort food (we got tonkatsu ramen, beef udon and chicken teriyaki bento). The service by the lady is friendly and good. We do enjoy this place!

Friendly staff and the place seems clean.
I had a bowl of Shiro (white) ramen and a lion king roll.
The roll was okay.
The ramen looked delicious, but unfortunately its taste was very bland. I ended up not eating most of it.

I ordered the Beef Okonomiyaki, some people call it Japanese Pizza, a delicious pancake made with a special batter with tempura flakes, small pieces of sliced beef, leeks and cabbage mixed and topped with very thin dry sliced beef, Japanese mayonnaise and a sweet umami sauce similar to Tonkatsu sauce. This restaurant opens early and serves American breakfast among other things.

I was in town locally with a craving for ramen and thought I should give this place a try. The place isn’t that hard to find, although parking is a little limited, but I was seated pretty quickly as I came in since it was a little early and the lunch crowd is at least 2 hours away. Their menu is a little confusing as they have a Japanese menu with the usual ramen varieties to offer as well as different appetizers and rice bowls, which are quite robust, may I add. They even offer okonomiyaki, which I would’ve ordered if I was hungrier at that time, but I went there for ramen, so ramen is what I’ll get. But I was also presented with another menu featuring typical Chinese style noodles and congee, which is a little confusing since the place is named “Ramen House.” But I wouldn’t pass judgment on account of them trying to diversify their menu options. I had their beef curry ramen and beef, rice with house sauce. The ramen broth is a little off in terms of seasoning, and the curry they used isn’t Japanese curry. The ramen noodles are a little thin, as one would use in a typical Chinese noodle soup. The beef is quite tender, but most of their seasoning is a little sweet, and I’m missing the savory part. To be honest, it’s a little underwhelming, and I’m a little disappointed that I might not come back to try their okonomiyaki.

Decent chicken katsu curry and rice. The chicken is crunchy and quality meat, the curry itself could use some work. But overall appropriately priced and a good meal. The ramen is uninspiring, not very impressive

Decent ramen selection and taste. Clean, modern decor, attentive service, fair price for ramen which I tried. The menu seemed a bit unfocused. Came back again and tried the rice dish, Oyako, it was a huge disappointment. It appeared dish is quickly put together, quite salty, not appealing, no garnish, not very good at all. Will probably stick to the ramen dishes if coming back in the future.
Overall, it was an okay dining experience. If you’re in this neighborhood, you might want togive it (ramen dishes) a try

Delicious bowl of ramen at 9 am. I had the black tonkotsu ramen. Their soy eggs were perfect. I’ve also tried their veggie okonomiyaki which was bomb. I haven’t seen a lot of places do okonomiyaki in SF so I was super excited to have it.

This place is a little gem in Portola. The service is great and the food is on point. We’ve had the ramen before (which is always good!), but we were craving udon this time. Both the chicken curry udon and the tempura udon were so tasty! You also get a lot of food for the price. They were nice enough to make me the tempura without shrimp for me too. Be sure to get a glass of the toasted rice tea to accompany your dinner.
