Chen at Ramen Dozu was incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in. You can really tell they care about their guests—Chen checked on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was perfect.
The food? Not only is it affordable, but the portions are huge—you definitely get your money’s worth. And despite the low prices, the quality of the food is top-tier. Every bite tasted fresh and full of flavor.
This spot has been around for 9 years, and it’s clear why. It’s a true hidden gem in Tempe. Do not sleep on this place if you’re craving quality ramen and great service.
I’m usually not a huge fan of ramen because I don’t like the noodles or broth, but I was absolutely blown away by the flavors here. I ate the whole bowl! The portions were generous—they actually split our ramen into two bowls, and I still felt like it was a great portion size. The gyoza was also a standout, especially with the spicy sauce. We couldn’t stop dipping our sushi into it! The spicy edamame had just the right kick, with hints of garlic that made it so addictive.
The customer service was top-notch, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more. This place is a must-try, and we’ve already decided to make it a regular stop!
The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived with 3-4 tables. A waitress took our orders. We waited about 45 mins before noticing that other tables who came after us already got their food. The waitress realized that the order wasn’t put it. She apologized and offered us a complimentary roll. We got our food about 20 minutes later!
After we ate, the waitress brought a check which didn’t include a complimentary roll. We gave our credit card. Upon the return, we saw the receipt with an additional charge of the roll which was offered as a complimentary. We inquired and got a confirmation that they canceled the additional charge and only charged the two entrees. However, we just saw that they ended up charging the complimentary roll regardless.
The food was ok. However, level of service and customer care is very unsatisfactory. We wont be back again due to the dishonest service.
The small add on gyudon however was quite expensive for the portion. It was good though. 7/10.
Atmosphere is abit dark/stuffy but a welcome respite from the sun.
Service was fast
