The broth is perfectly balanced and flavourful, the noodles are always cooked just right, and the eggs are to die for. The green tea (hot or cold) accompanies the meal perfectly and the mochi makes for a great end.
Additionally, the service and atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it’s easy to see why they’re popular. If you’re looking for your next great meal, make it Ramen Arashi!
I visited Arashi Ramen in Victoria for the first time, and it was such a great experience. I ordered the extra-extra spicy veggies miso ramen with a Coke, and it was delicious perfectly spicy and full of flavor. The bowl had corn, spinach , tofu, veggies, red chili, noodles, and crispy garlic onions that added a nice crunch.
We also ordered spring rolls, and they were really nice hot, crispy, and perfectly crunchy. The vibe of the place was really cozy and gave that real Asian restaurant feel they have cool cloth-style posters and even the menu looked like a hand-painted artwork. Loved the overall experience! Definitely planning to go again.
I tried the tantan white sesame ramen which was great, and I heard the black sesame was great as well. I especially loved the spicy tonkotsu.
All ingredients beautifully seasoned, ramen cooked to perfection, the egg is perfect, and I would return solely for the chashu (the braised pork belly) alone. Such a well-rounded and fabulous place.
Oh and the cherry on top is the value. Great price for what you get. Bravo.
Noodles: chewy (I love chewy noodles)
Broth: very thick and creamy
Pork: tender and melts in your mouth, not as hot as I’d like but still good
Egg: not as gooey as I like but still good
Toppings: crunchy/fried garlic and some peanuts add a nice crunchiness to the dish. Overall I’d give food 4.5 it was very pleasing to my palate. The restaurant is very busy I came at 1125 am at the opening on Sunday and there were about 10 people waiting for the restaurant to open.
I have been going to Ramen Arashi for a good year now regularily and it’s the best Ramen I’ve ever eaten every single time without fail. I’m consistently dissappinted when I try new ramen places, and it always proves to me that there’s no competition for Arashi.
I always get the Tonkotsu, it’s delicious and creamy and salty and warm, the chashu always melts in your mouth, the egg fills your mouth with flavour, the noodles are perfectly textured, all the additional little bits of flavour complement the whole experience.
Ramen Arashi will ruin all other ramen for you in the best way.
