This is the best kept secret in Alamance County! Our family loves a mom & pop place and this establishment is just that! Local folks, producing delicious food with an amazing atmosphere. I watched this business pivot during covid and turn this into whatit is today. I’ve eaten here a few times, food is always top tier. I have also placed special orders with their phenomenal baker and she makes ordering a breeze everytime! I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a great place to get delicious food

I travel 45 minutes once a month for their fish fry!!
It is out of this world! I’m from Wisconsin where we have fish fries every Friday and I’d been searching for something close to what I’m used to and this place hits the nail on the head. The fish is big enough for two meals!! And it’s crunchy on the outside and juicy and flaky on the inside. It is mouthwatering!!! I wish they had it every Friday. I’ve had other things to eat here that are also yummy, but the fish is my absolute favorite!
And the staff is over-the-top, friendly, helpful and just lovely. It’s well worth my travel time!!

This place is a hidden gem! The baker/barista is SO creative and comes up with the best baked goods and desserts – I am always looking forward to trying everything she does! The atmosphere and small shop is so great, and they have so many local gifts and such to buy. If you haven’t been – GO! I promise you will want to go back!

Love this restaurant! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Great food, friendly/family atmosphere. They take customer service to the highest level. They have many special event offerings. They are a mercantile as well with many locally made items. They offer catering, food truck and sincerely appreciate customer input, in fact they request it. Very reasonably priced! They have a grab and go refrigerated section. 100% Sanitation Rating which is a rare find in many restaurants. This small business has been successfully created and is ran by a wonderful family.

First time here, and it was a great experience, food and service wise! I got there right before the BBQ market opened and had breakfast. Then immediately followed up by getting a brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. The biscuits were delectable and they were not at all those skinny biscuits you get at biscuitville. They were filling and flavorful! I got the blended butterscotch frapp and it was the perfect amount of sweetness and flavor! The gravy was amazing as well! The sandwiches were very delicious! The brisket was juicy and well seasoned, and the pork was tender highly recommend this place and will be visiting again!

This one the nicest establishment in haw river. They make all baked good by scratch and Barbecue pitmaster is one of most talented chefs creating some best smoked meats in this area. Very cute unique little area where everyone need to visit on the way to Burlington or on the way to Chapel Hill.

Rambling River Mercantile has the best coffee around. I moved here from WA state and I have to say they make the BEST mochas in this area.
Their baked goods are all made in house and are absolutely delicious. Kate uses the most unique flavors for her baked goods.
I also want to comment on their breakfast sandwiches. Everything is fresh made and the bacon is so crispy. I never miss a bacon egg croissant on Saturday morning.
The last thing I would like to mention is their Friday Fish Fry. I am not a fried fish eater but let me tell you from the first bite I was hooked. I never miss it now.

We stopped in for breakfast at Rambling River Mercantile in Haw River and left absolutely impressed! The food was outstanding—the meats were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. We couldn’t get enough of the fantastic coffee; it was bold, fresh, and exactly what we needed to start the day. Everything felt homemade and full of local charm. This place is a real treasure—great vibes, friendly service, and delicious eats. We highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

My wife & I go here most every Saturday. We love the small town atmosphere & they really do make us feel like family. They always have new & exciting food offerings & there drinks are always on point.
