I step into the smell of sweet heaven when I walked in… I drooled as I looked at all the yummy goodness all around me! I couldn’t easily decide, so I got a great little sampler of everything that I must try!! Everything I selected did not disappoint either my hubby or myself.. so glad we made it right before closing and was able to still make many selections. Will be back if working in the area again, I know my dentist will not be happy with me lol

I ordered my Boyfriends birthday cake in July, I called a week ahead of time. I was promised it would be made in time for his birthday a week later. When I called the day of his birthday (since I had not received a call otherwise) I was told they had not gotten the ingredients to make the cake. They never bothered to call to inform me. Fast forward to this weekend. We were waiting in line, my boyfriend who was standing right next to me was very rudely told to “Step aside” so the woman at the counter could assist the customer behind him. So disrespectful, and unprofessional. Tried to give them a second chance but will not be returning. Better off going to Walmart who is consistent, delicious and MUCH more friendly and professional.

I oedered a birthday cake from NJ, to pick up on our way to VT for my sister’s 75th party while we were going to be on vacation. We ran into traffic and an accident on our way so there was a good chance we wouldn’t arrive before the bakery closed. I called them and advised our situation. The lovely person who answered the phone said she would wait for us until 5:30. Fortunately, we arrived just at closing, but how much more accommodating can a business be? It was delicious and beautifully decorated as well!!!

Twas the Eve of Christmas, I rode to Rambach’s in my motorized sleigh over the snow. The parking lot was covered in snow, but there was plenty…you know… The main door was opened by a patron so lively with a tied boxes that was ever so thick. I entered to meet with the smells of the bakery. The bakery is visible and you could see plenty of fresh delights being made. There were donuts, cookies, and cakes…You could pre-order quiches or tortiere…which was why I was there. I spied German Butter Stollen…At checkout it was proclaimed…Merry Christmas!! This bakery brings back so many memories…I will report back as my mom’s birthday is a few days away and we will pick up a cake.

the staff are wonderful, its a nice place…but nothing but sugar sugar sugar; no cream, no cheese. just sugar. The Tea cake that made the place famous doesn’t taste the same and I would venture to say its from being cheap with the buttermilk(the secret ingredient). I got a slice of red velvet cake today. got home and started to eat it and spit it out- SUGAR. a frosting that resembled a buttercream frosting which tells me they know what they are doing.

I’m just confused as to why when they have hours open until (6) pm on a Friday , I drive up , it’s before 4:00– yet again they’re closed?? All these Bakeries their Customer Base is actually working people! The one on Durkee street that is only open like 3 or 4 days a week, and closes at 3:00?? Yah No, I expect it to be closed for good before a year. Please just honor your hours!! I’m sick of driving over there many times to find your closed!!!

I’ve been ordering my birthday cake here for 20 years now and every year it’s the best cake I’ve ever had. I treasure the care they put into it, one year I asked for a skateboard picture to be put on a cake and they went out of their way to make it happen. I adore them, It’s worth the visit !

First place I gotta visit when I’m in Plattsburgh is Rambach! This bakery has all sorts of goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth! I’ve tried donuts, cookies, muffins and while they are good, my favorite is the tea cake! I find the tea cake has the perfect amount of sweetness, the cake is light and not very sweet, you get majority of the sweetness from the icing on top of the tea cake and it just pairs so perfectly. I do remember seeing a maple tea cake, not sure if it’s still available as it’s been quite some time since I visited. I’m hoping to visit very soon and grab a few tea cakes so I can freeze and enjoy for later! Yes, in case you’re wondering, tea cakes are fine to freeze! Tastes just as good as if it were fresh from the bakery!
