Rakuzen Ramen House is such a cute little place, but it’s packed with flavor. This was my first time visiting, and from the moment we walked in, the server was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better.
The decorations are beautiful, with lanterns and flowers throughout the space. The pink and red color scheme gives the restaurant a cozy, fun, and slightly whimsical feeling that makes it feel warm and inviting.
They offer a wide variety of ramen, and we chose from their favorites menu. We ordered the Rakuzen Red and the Creamy Vegan ramen, and both were absolutely delicious. The crispy pork buns were also amazing, and I loved the little touch of having the restaurant’s logo stamped right on top of the bun.
Overall, a great first visit and definitely a place I’d come back to.

I really enjoy Rakuzen! It’s a bit out of the way for me (I live in Hazel Dell), so I don’t get to come as often as I’d like. But whenever my husband and I are in the area it’s always a nice treat! Their broth is light, but still creamy and flavorful. The regular noodles have a little chew to them which I really enjoy, but their vegan noodles weren’t really to my taste. They had a nice flavor, but they were much too soft for me. Once you started chewing they basically turned to mush almost instantly. But still, it’s nice they have a vegan option for those who need it! On a higher note, the vegan curry broth was so delicious! And the tofu?! I don’t know what they do to it exactly, but I was in love! I’m not vegan (just vegetarian), but I’d really recommend both to anyone regardless of their dietary preferences.

It’s a small space, but still cozy for what it is. Though it might be difficult if you come in with a party larger than 8. The staff is always friendly and food never takes too long to start coming out. If you’re in the area and haven’t tried Rakuzen yet, I’d definitely recommend you give it a go!

I was very excited when I first saw the menu with all my favorite Japanese meals which made deciding on one tough. I settled on my overall favorite, tonkatsu (“crispy pork”), along with extra rice and mint green tea.

First, the bagged mint green tea was too strong. I asked to exchange with normal green tea, which the waitress appeared reluctant to do but finally obliged which I appreciated. However, what I received still had lingering mint taste since they reused the same disposable paper cup which still confuses me.

The main dish. At many Japanese restaurants, I’m used to receiving multiple slices or a large single cut of tonkatsu. Here, I received a small plate with such a thin cut that I was frankly amazed at their technical ability to prepare (bread and fry) non-existent meat that ended up resembling crispy bacon. At least I didn’t have to worry about not having enough rice with the extra bowl I ordered (even the main plate had more rice than curry sauce).

I wouldn’t complain for a small price, but when I received my $21 bill with options for tips starting at 15%, I wished I could pen in a negative tip since I felt robbed.

This was excellent. We had a creamy chicken ramen, spicy miso, chicken wings, and a pork bun. The flavors were fantastic and complex, they had a number of add-ons, and it was easy to swap the protein option in any ramen.

Even though it’s summer, completely hit that winter comfort food vibe.

The staff was kind and helpful, the food was ready quickly, and when we ordered some to take home to family it was in a container that keeps the noodles separate from the broth (big win imo for anywhere that serves noodles in broth).

Can’t wait to go back!

This is a great find! The tonkatsu was rich with a hint of sweetness. The pork was flavorful and meaty. The miso was very nice also. Plenty of noodles and garnishes. Highly recommend.

Incredibly authentic ramen (says someone who has spent a few weeks eating around Japan). Had the miso ramen and it was superb – insanely delicious and complex. Fantastic food and environment. Took me right back to Japan! 10/10 – can’t wait to come back!

First time eating ramen from an actual restaurant and not instant ramen. I liked it, but I felt like the bowls didn’t feel very good, quality wise. The tables felt sticky..? Had some sort of weird feeling to it, but the food was good. I got these cold noodles, and the sauce felt a bit overpowering tasted great though. Service was extremely fast and my family was the only one there for a while so we got to enjoy it very much!

The ajitama was hard-boiled, instead of a soft boil that I would have preferred. It wasn’t marinated for long enough, with a very light outer layer, and not much soy flavor. Pork chashu was wonderfully browned pork belly, rendered to the right stage for soup. It went well with the crunchier veggies, like the corn and shredded onion. Speaking of the corn, it was high quality, and retained it’s crunch through the whole meal. The chicken chashu was really disappointing, especially paired with the pork. It was white meat, with no browning or marinade that I could tell. I expected more for $4 extra. Everything else was really brought together by the broth, a light and balanced soup that obviously had a lot of work out into it. Toothsome noodles and bamboo shoots soaked in the pork and chicken broth made an extremely filling meal that was a few steps short of perfect.

WOW WOW WOW ABSOLUTELY PERFECT PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THIS TAKES ME BACK TO A CERTAIN OTHER RAMEN PLACE IN TOWN BEFORE THEY GOT TOO BIG FOR THEIR BRITCHES. I got the Rakuzen Red ramen and it was just a perfect blend of spicy, sweet, salty, savory what an amazing broth. I love the way they do the bamboo shoots. We will so be back and telling everyone about the amazing food, atmosphere, and service. Please please please never change you are doing this exactly right.
