Busy, minimal-chic room offering house udon specialties and Japanese small plates.

Some of the best udon in NYC! While the wait can definitely be long during peak hours(1hr 30min on a Sunday evening), Raku SoHo is a cozy spot that delivers authentic noodles and thoughtful dishes once you’re seated.
For an appetizer you must try the chicken tatsuta-age which is wonderfully fried and seasoned. We loved the dipping sauce which perfectly compliments the chicken. We tried two hot udons, the tantan and the nabeyaki.
The tantan offered a rich and flavorful broth while not being too overwhelming. My only complaint would be that most of the pork and other components were under the noodles so I didn’t discover them until I was almost finished. The nabeyaki was a nice light soup with the same perfect noodles. It offered a lot of protein and a nicely balanced fishy flavor. The stand out of this dish was the shrimp tempura which was fried to perfection.
My only complaints would be of the tight seating arrangement. You will be practically sharing a table with the people around you if you are seated near the front. Overall, I cannot wait to come again and try more of their udon!

An excellent place for some delicious food on a cold day. The ankake and seasonal mushroom udon were both deliciously flavorful and perfectly filling! Do expect to wait a bit during peak hours and they are very prompt in letting you know when your table is ready. The wait staff are very friendly and provide quick service.

Best udon i.ve ever had.
Trolly better that one I had in Osaka.
Broth was bit salty, but the noodle was out of this world.
All we ordered was fantastic.

Came here for dinner around 5pm on a weekday and was seated immediately for a party of two, which was a great start. I ordered the agedashi tofu, ebiten udon, and the fruit roll dessert. The food was served promptly and was delicious! I highly recommend the ebiten (shrimp tempura) if you like crispy fried shrimp paired with a clean tasting broth. The tofu was a decent starter, nothing too special, but the udon was definitely a hit. The dessert was a great conclusion to the meal, fluffy cake paired with a not-too-sweet cream and fruit filling. Overall, would recommend and would return!

The restaurant not too big, cozy, but pack, rsvp totally recommended if coming in rush hours. 90 mins to complete your meals since they are very busy so other customers can have an opportunity to dine in as well. Their steam eggs surprisingly so tasty and it took at least 20 to 25 mins wait for that dish. Their spinach and mushroom very simple yet very tasty as well. Udon was also good, overall I loved this place and I was glad that my hubby discovered it lol. We walked there since we were there on a vacation. There’s no way we would drive around NY. Too crazy and parking sucks. Good for kids, family as well. Serves beers and wines. Of course there is parking along the streets. But not easy to find one sometime. We either walk or uber when we come to NY.

I made a reservation and were able to get seated right away, even though there was a line waiting outside. It was nice to enjoy a warm bowl of udon on a cold day. The noodles were chewy and delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, the mackerel sushi had a bit too much rice compared to the amount of fish. 예약 추천, 일식은 일본에서333

We ventured to Soho for some of the juiciest fried chicken and the tastiest udons in the city, and was not disappointed.
No wait for party of 2 on 5:30pm Thu, but the place was seen to be filling up fast. Service was amazing – extremely polite, waters always filled, food served quick and efficiently.
So many varieties on the menu! I opted for something simple, shrimp tempura udon, so I could focus on noodle chewiness and the broth flavorings. Everything was delicious without feeling heavy, even the karage.
Definitely a wholesome meal, perfect for a freezing winter night. Would be back.

I was transported back to Japan. Udon was excellent as were apps and the roll cake for dessert is a must. Mango lemonade is also a must have! Was really wowed by the food, hence the 5 stars, as I felt underwhelmed by service tbh (cordial enough but not anything special), but doesn’t matter when you’re stuffing your face

The food here is why i am not a crack addict. why would i do crack when i could just come here and have the udon. the first sip of broth makes me feel like i don’t have problems for a second. the food here tastes so good i think i audibly moan with each bite. even better if i got plastered the night before and i’m fighting a crazy hangover, one sip and it’s like no udon’t . you are okay. you will be okay.

Delicious udon with a large menu where everyone can find something they enjoy. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. The noodles tasted freshly made and the broth was comforting. The restaurant was clean and the service was prompt. The bowl of udon was large and you’ll definitely leave satisfied!
