First I must say, I am obsessed with butter chicken. I drive from Lenexa to Overland Park to a different restaurant multiple times a week, and have it delivered because I love it so much. I decided to order from this restaurant because it is 4 minutes away and I wanted to give them a try. I love trying new places, and honestly I thought it would be great.

UPDATE: I went back to Raj for lunch on Friday. Let me just say, holy mother of God it was phenomenal! I got the chicken Tikka Masala, rice, and cheese Naan. Good lord it was amazing. Same great service, friendly people, and clean restaurant. I took a bite of the Tikka and then just stared at the bowl in amazement. This place does it right. The Tikka was a little spicier than others I have had but for me that’s a great thing. This little gem is an amazing place and I will recommend to anyone who will listen! If you’re in OP and ha e a hankering for amazing Indian food with a great staff, clean facility, and amazing food, look no further than Raj express.

It’s a good place to get the feel of Indian food. Nevertheless it’s calibrated for American palate , I ordered a veg khorma and nan which were really good , Chicken Samosa was very tasty and fresh , Chicken Biriyani was just Ok, Veg rice was decent , I ordered Tandoori Chicken, it was ok . They could have done it better, it was more blunt towards the spice note . Had a bhek puri which was bellow average due to the inadequate and blunt filling . Overall Not a bad place , they might have more better items which I might have not tried . I will try more item for sure .

I’ve tried this place several times hoping it would get better but the food is really disappointing. The employees are nice and the restaurant is clean but the food is bland. The Dal Makhani wasn’t good and didn’t look or taste like Dal Makhani. I also got the House Chicken Curry which was watery and bland. The chicken was tender but the gravy had no flavor.

This place has been our regular stop after work on Wednesday. My wife likes Butter Chicken Express Bowl with Jasmine Rice and I usually get the Lamb Curry with Vegetable Rice, and add a serving of Naan enough to share. Even if you order for dine in, you can later get a lid (by the drink machine) for you to take the leftovers home.

Ordered a chicken briyani. Not good. Unwanted food dye in the dish. Who ever is cooking there is not qualified to be a chef at a restaurant. State of Kansas should be inspecting these places more often.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with the mixed reviews I read but I decided to give it a shot. The wait time was not “express” in my opinion. I arrived just before 7pm and ordered the Express Bowl with Basmati rice and Butter chicken with roasted vegetables. I let them know it was a “take out” order. I waited close to 30 minutes for the meal and they did not bring it out to me in take out form but presented me with my food on a tray as if I were a dine in. So I asked for a lid so I could take it to go. I have to say the gentleman that served me did apologize for the wait and did get me a lid.

Food is great, been going for a while now. Their customer service and ability to deal with customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner is less than desirable. They immediately get Very defensive and use their “it’s not their fault tone”
