Tonight was my first time ordering from here . I ordered skirt steak , rice , beans , and fries. I ordered the half portion but it was huge ! Enough for 2 people . I am very picky when it comes to food… but I was pleasantly surprised! It was absolutely delicious, the skirt steak was cooked perfectly and the rice and beans and fries were very fresh . It also comes with egg, but I asked for no egg. When I arrived to pick up my order , I was immediately greeted and taken care of. I called just 15 minutes prior and my order was ready and waiting and very hot . The man on the phone and at the desk was very nice and attentive . I will definitely be back soon and want to dine in next time and bring a bottle of wine . Highly recommend!

Since the owner replied to my review I’m going to updated it with more accurate information of my experience. I literally watched an UberEats driver wait 20 minutes for food that had already been prepared. The driver was patiently waiting for the order while continuously reminding the staff. The staff purposely kept the food on the shelf without giving it to the driver in order to delay the food and transfer it to their in-house delivery system. When I went there I showed a staff member my phone, and just like the UberEats driver, the staff walked up to me and barely scanned the shelf and told me it wasn’t ready when it was clear the waiter didn’t even look at the shelf (the shelf was full of food— about 10 bags that were on-hold) to confirm the order wasn’t ready. They avoid looking at the foods that are already prepared to delay app-based deliveries.
I also watched other app-based drivers purposely not wanting to show the staff their phone to avoid their delivery delayed or being rerouted to their in-house delivery method. There was one driver that literally had called ahead of time, frustrated, because she knew that the food gets rerouted due to the tactics they employ.
To drivers: REPORT THEM TO THE APP. I know it’s easy to just walk away and loose the gas you wasted to get to the restaurant but the more you report it to restaurant care, the more violations they’ll receive. This place needs to learn to use their own marketing skills in order to market their deliveries, not scam app-based drivers for a quick buck. It’s unfair and shows their lack of care for their customers and food arriving on time.
For fellow food delivery drivers and customers—be aware of what’s happening here.
I had a frustrating experience at this restaurant while trying to pick up a food delivery order. After giving the customer’s name (which is standard), one of the staff members insisted on taking a photo of my phone screen with access to the delivery number code. This was after multiple people had already asked for the name, and I had already shown it. That’s not normal app-based delivery protocol.
Later, I found out the restaurant has its own delivery system. It appears they may be stalling app delivery drivers in order to reroute orders through their own drivers—possibly to avoid fees or push their own delivery setup.
That puts drivers at risk, but also causes issues for customers:
• It may delay your food.
• It creates confusion and miscommunication.
• And it feels dishonest—if you’re ordering through an app, you should get the experience you paid for, not be unknowingly rerouted.
I’ve reported this to the food delivery app. Just wanted to warn other drivers and customers in case this happens to you.

I Still Think About that Sandwich to this Day
For our first venture into authentic Portuguese Food, we were extremely pleased. Along with the free bread, we ordered 1/2 Costela Vaca (Ribs), the Secreto Sandwich, Serradura, & Mousse Maracuja. For starters, that free bread was bussin, so good. The ribs were flavorful & provided great side options including rice, beans, & french fries. The Secreto Sandwich was amazing, I had it months ago & I am always craving it. The meat was cooked extremely well, nice & tender, the bread complimented it, & the cheese on it was amazing! Both dessert options were winners as well, nice & light yet packed with flavor.
The waitress was also very kind & provided a wonderful dining experience. The music was nice as well & the restaurant had a classy yet vibrant atmosphere. Before we left, we were sure to pick up some Natas (pastries) to go for the family, they did not disappoint either. I cannot wait to come back & order the Secreto Sandwich again, WOW was it good!

Excellent place to eat! The food is phenomenal and the restaurant owner was so warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. They provide takeout, dine in, and even allow for party reservations of between 40-100 people.

The food is very good. They season everything perfectly. The meats are tender and perfectly seasoned. The service is very slow so be prepared because it’s worth it. They don’t sell wine by the glass, only by the bottle. Very friendly staff just a little disorganized. I will definitely be back.

Came with a friend, both for the first time here. I ordered salmon and she ordered cod. Both enjoyed it. My salmon was very favorable. Staff is friendly, nice atmosphere. Would come back but only if someone else wanted to. Didn’t wow me.

This was my third time here this month. One of the best Portuguese restaurants I have been to on the east coast. Authentic, fresh, and like you’re eating a home cooked meal. We especially love the BBQ chicken and cod dishes, and the simple rice and beans are delicious! Portions are huge and prices are low. It’s the real deal.. a very special local gem. Would recommend to anyone and looking forward to frequenting this spot.

I didn’t even eat here due to a delayed DoorDash I was picking up but staff were friendly . They gave me delecious warm bread and olives and banter while I waited for the items. I’m definitely going to visit here for a scrumptious dinner off duty!
