Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers – Airline Hwy, Metairie, LA
Came here after a baseball game at the park across the street and even though the line was unusually long at first, it looked like someone was placing a large catering order. Once I got to the counter, my food came out super fast, hot, fresh, and crispy just like Cane’s is known for.
I ended up using the restroom while I was there and it was spotless. The men’s restroom is single use with one toilet and urinal, but it was very clean and well kept. The dining area was neat, tables were wiped down, and I noticed a couple of high chairs stacked near the booths — great for families with toddlers.
There’s plenty of parking and they even have three dedicated mobile order pickup spots right out front. The location sits conveniently at the light off Airline Highway, making it easy to get in and out. Overall, a family friendly and consistent spot for a quick chicken finger meal after a game or when you’re just craving that Cane’s combo (no slaw). I’ll definitely be back. ⚾
I changed a last minute sizable tailgate order and moved it up 5 hours. The staff did not panic or get upset like I’ve seen at other restaurants. Instead, they met the challenge with a smile, worked together as a team with multiple teammates going from front of house to back of house to help the cook, etc. it was a pleasure to witness because you don’t see that level of teamwork everyday. I’ve always been impressed with the teamwork and customer service I get everytime I’m at canes.
I went in showed the worker my receipt, they took it & said ok… As I sat down, I noticed that the worker didn’t bring me my receipt back, I asked for it & the worker had a weird vibe when I asked for it. Laughing with about it with another coworker The worker brought it back to me crumpled up like it was thrown away. Mind you all of this is going on while I am waiting for my food. I ask the other worker for extra sauce for my inconvenience & go to the restroom
(side note) there’s no paper towels in the men’s room
I come back & they say that I have to pay for the sauce, I rebuttle & say this should be complementary for the mistake that was made & the time that was wasted coming inside the restaurant in the first place
The worker responded by saying that they will have to wait till the manager gets back…MORRREEE TIME WASTED!!!!
So I sit & wait…2-3 mins go by & I ask another worker with a headset are they the manager & obviously there not lol (just my luck)
The manager finally walks in & the worker was so excited to prance around the manager & tell the interaction with promising details…crowding the manager not letting me even get a word in…the manager gave me the sauce free of charge
Mind you the food has been ready since I came back from the restroom…when the worker finally gave me the food I asked if the sauces were in the bag
The worker said you can check & walked away
I said with a dumbfounded face , what is wrong with you…I said all this to say that this was a very unpleasant experience that could’ve been so simple
First Impressions
Walking in, the vibe was fun and inviting—it had that Red Robin-style décor, but with a New Orleans twist, featuring local sports team memorabilia. The menu was straightforward and simple, which we appreciated. No overwhelming choices—just chicken done right.
We went in around 3 pm and the place was not crowded, tables were clean, but still a steady stream of people coming in (and in the drive through) for food.
We ordered:
The Chicken Sandwich Combo
The Chicken Fingers Combo
The food came out fast, fresh, and hot—exactly what you want from a fast food spot. The chicken was top-notch, just like Chick-fil-A quality, with a crispy, well-seasoned breading and tender, juicy meat. The fries? Pretty standard, but the real game-changer? THE SAUCE.
For a fast food joint, Raising Cane’s absolutely did not disappoint. We’re glad we gave it a try in its hometown, and honestly, we’d eat here again in a heartbeat.
The Sauce – The Star of the Show!
New Orleans knows how to do sauces, and Raising Cane’s is no exception. Their signature sauce had a nice little kick (black pepper seasoning, perhaps?) that paired perfectly with the fries, chicken, and even the Texas toast that came with the meal. We were seriously impressed! If only Raising Cane’s sold bottles of it—we would’ve stocked up for sure.
For a fast food joint, Raising Cane’s absolutely did not disappoint. We’re glad we gave it a try in its hometown, and honestly, we’d eat here again when we need a quick bite to eat, especially to and from the airport/rental cars.
Whenever you go to Cane ask for extra crispy chicken fingers…I also request it because it tastes soooo much better when its “extra crispy”
