Rainier Restaurant serves up some really good Vietnamese food, though we were hoping for just a bit more. The sea snails were tasty but seemed frozen, so they could’ve been better. The fried quail, which should’ve been crispy, fell a little short. On the bright side, the fish was definitely the highlight of the meal—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and delicious.
Overall, still a solid spot that we’d recommend and plan to come back to.

This has been my favorite Vietnamese restaurant since 2021, and it had been a while since my last visit. During my most recent visit, the food wasn’t as good as I expected, but the service was still fast and friendly. After I shared my experience, the manager reached out to me right away and was sincerely committed to making things right for my next visit. As someone who used to be a kitchen manager for restaurant chains, I understand that things can happen. In the end, they proved that their service and food quality are still among the best.

I haven’t been here in years. I thought to try it again after seeing under new management. Aesthetically this place needs some TLC. This was the time line for our food to come out. Bo Luc Lac 10 min. Porkchop 30 min. Spring roll 35 min. That was super disappointing. As for the food the Com Bo Luc Lac i would give an 8/10. Wish there was more meat. The Charcoal Porkchop dish was 6/10. Even though the Porkchop dish flavor wise 6/10. The portion was huge.

Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food! Definitely a hidden gem. Great service and kind staff. The beef salad is amazing! It has water spinach, thinly cooked beef and a light tangy sauce.

Once in a while I find a jewel of a restaurant that has been in my backyard all along. I stopped into Rainier Restaurant once before, but I didn’t stay to eat for a reason I don’t remember. Recently I wanted to treat myself to a crab dinner, but I didn’t want to go far from home. I passed the Rainier Restaurant (Thai) in the Rainier Valley and decided to stop in to see if they had crab. They only had one (live) crab remaining and it was close to 3 lbs! This was a day just for me so I went for it. My goodness, this place is a gem! As dishes came out for other tables I was mesmerized at the variety and uniqueness of the menu options and preparations. Options like frogs legs, sea snails, geoduck and eels (along with a variety of fowl) are available. Everything looked and smelled fantastic. I went to a couple tables and asked for a view of their selections. I ordered the salt and pepper crab with a side of steamed rice and broccoli. Wow! If I had one criticism – I thought it had more cornstarch coating than needed. But everything else was on point. I will be returning to this place soon to try several other things. You should too. This place is a FIND!

New owner, slightly different name (just Rainier Restaurant now) , new menu, but still great food for a steal. We ordered the family dinner (the large one) and lost track of how many dishes there are because it kept coming. Was very impressed with the quality and options (you get choices of protein with a lot of the dishes). We didn’t finish but had plenty of leftovers. Highly recommend for large parties or just some really hungry people.

Had a great meal at Rainer Restaurant and tried several dishes: the signature deep-fried catfish, ong choy beef salad, BÁNH XÈO (Vietnamese crepes), and BÚN RIÊU (crab vermicelli soup). Everything was delicious and thoughtfully presented.
The deep-fried catfish was crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. It comes with fresh vegetables, rice vermicelli, and rice papers you dip in hot water to make your own fresh rolls. I do wish the fish itself had a bit more seasoning, but the accompanying sauce really brings it to life. You may need to call ahead as the dish requires 30min to prepare.
The ong choy beef salad was fresh and flavorful, with a tangy sauce that complements the greens and beef perfectly. The BÁNH XÈO was a little mild on its own, but once you add the fish sauce, it transforms into something crave-worthy. And the BÚN RIÊU? Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor.
Portions are generous—great for sharing or for leftovers. On top of all that, the service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better.

The food was very tasty here. We ordered the cơm gia đình but the cơm didn’t come with it and we had to order the cơm )white rice)separately. Service was exceptional and the best we have encountered in a Vietnamese restaurant.

If you’re looking for a whole deep fried catfish, this is the place! This is the only thing we got this time around, and the presentation and taste of the fish was great! I’m looking forward to coming back for their other dishes, as they looked to be quite unique.
