To top it off, we had a such a pleasant server: Kailynne. She was warm, made good recommendations and was a delight to engage with.
The décor is the main highlight of this place. Kids absolutely love the moving animals, especially the gorillas, elephants, and tropical birds, while adults can enjoy the creative environment and relaxed vibe. The periodic “thunderstorms” add an exciting touch and make the experience memorable, especially for first-time visitors.
The food menu offers a wide variety of options, including burgers, steaks, seafood, pasta, and kid-friendly meals. Portions are generous, and the presentation is appealing. While the food may be slightly on the pricier side compared to nearby restaurants, you’re really paying for the experience and entertainment along with your meal. The drinks and desserts are also fun and well-themed, making them a great treat.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, and attentive, even during busy hours. Despite the crowds, service is well-managed and efficient, which adds to the overall positive experience. The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough to accommodate families, groups, and celebrations.
Rainforest Cafe is located in a prime tourist area near Clifton Hill, making it very convenient for visitors exploring Niagara Falls. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy a meal, and let kids have some fun after a long day of sightseeing.
Overall, Rainforest Cafe Niagara Falls delivers exactly what it promises—a lively, entertaining dining experience with good food and a fun atmosphere. If you’re looking for a memorable place to eat that offers more than just a meal, this is definitely worth a visit.
It was a surprise to see the jungle theme come to life with the animatronics and the overall design of the restaurant. It’s nice, and while it is clearly for kids, it was still enjoyable from the dining area to the shop.
However, that’s where the surprises stop being positive. The tables were left dirty for ~30mins and we were all crammed into the same end of the restaurant. I’m sure it’s convenient for the waiters, but being elbow to elbow when the place is half empty and a quarter dirty… is absurd.
The aforementioned jungle theme, was overwhelming. Every 20mins it seemed like the ambience of animal sounds was cranked up to full volume, to simulate fighting I assume. Funny for the first time, till we saw the children crying from being overstimulated and scared, families had to move away from the animatronics because they were too much with the blaring sound for the children. It was loud for us too, but since it happened only three times thanks to our short stay, we tolerated it but I don’t think those parents liked it at all.
The food? Bland. The best thing I can say about it is that it was presented nicely. Everything we ordered was missing flavor, the turkey wrap was dry with little sauce, the pastalaya was just spicy… There was little to no seasoning, which I would maybe forgive if the kids items were served as such to prevent upsetting sensitive stomach at young age. But these were the adult menu items! The menu is simply overpriced and flavorless, hardly anything is below $30-35 CAD. That price tag is undeservedly high, the quality definitely doesn’t match it, and the ‘entertainment’ seems to upset the target audience more than entertain them.
So if you’re looking for a showtime and decent, affordable food to tag along with that, you’re better off getting a microwave meal and turning on the television for a fraction of the price – even if you rent a movie. In fact, just do that or…
Go somewhere else!
The cost of the food is atrocious. For a burger it was $35. The tacos were good but the cost of everything didn’t make it worth it.
The fruit that came with the kids meal didn’t look fresh. When we told the server it was my husband’s birthday, he brought over an ice cream cup in a styrofoam cup with a candle. This is the same type of icecream served at hospitals. It was shocking. I would have rather he said they don’t have anything than give that, it was so sad looking.
Also the water in the washroom for washing our hands was FREEZING. The coldest water I’ve ever had in a washroom. There was no hot water at all. It was so cold our hands hurt afterwards. Absolutely unbelievable.
Really unfortunate but we won’t be back.
Also ordered the steak and ribs combo. Steak had a good sear but was average. Ribs were average with a decent BBQ glaze — not fall-off-the-bone mushy, but good texture. Fries were average. Overall a filling plate.
Fun atmosphere with animal showcases every 20 minutes, nice family vibe and for the kids but average food and service.
What really made the difference was our server, Shona. She was absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was perfect. Her positive attitude really elevated our whole experience.
Thank you, Shona, for the excellent service! We would definitely come back.
