I can’t compliment this place enough. The owners are super kind and friendly, the food is amazing (get the Paddington special—definitely Hollywood handshake worthy), the vibe and branding are amazing. Beau has an exuberant energy that feels authentic (he loves the island and his business and enthusiastically shares them with everyone who comes in, local and tourist alike) and Jo has a quiet, sincere energy and a warm smile (I loved chatting with her about the story behind the Paddington special). This coffee shop is worth all the hype and is absolutely a small business worth supporting.

Coffee Carnival at Rainbeau Jo’s ☕

Getting coffee and breakfast at Rainbeau Jo’s in Lihue isn’t just a stop—it’s a full-blown carnival experience. Step inside and you’re instantly part of a three-ring circus (in the very best way). The vibrant, colorful interior sets the stage, and presiding over it all is an equally colorful ringmaster who somehow keeps the whole show moving while juggling orders, personalities, and music that—at least to this over-50 crowd—felt like it was turned up to 11.

The coffee menu is the main event, with a full lineup of hot and cold acts. My personal headliner: The Sleeping Giant. This beauty blends espresso, milk, and sweetened condensed coconut milk into something so smooth and delicious you’ll be plotting your return visit before the cup is empty. For those craving a true dessert performance, the Rainbeau-ritas steal the spotlight—espresso meets ice cream with decadent combinations of chocolate, caramel, and peanut butter. Think coffee shop meets dessert tent.

Need something solid to keep you upright for the rest of the show? Rainbeau Jo’s has bagels and smoothies to fill the belly. I went with the Lox It Up—your choice of bagel, lox cream cheese, and onion, with optional tomato and sprouts. It’s a simplified, island-style nod to the NYC classic, and it works beautifully.

A word to the wise: this ringmaster is very skilled in the ancient art of suggestive selling. One minute you’re ordering a coffee, the next you’re nodding along to an extra espresso shot and a pineapple pastry you didn’t even know existed—let alone needed.

And beyond the laughs, the customer service deserves a standing ovation. I forgot to ask for my drink blended, and without hesitation, it was remade—no questions, no side-eye, just great service.

️ Final verdict: Rainbeau Jo’s isn’t just coffee—it’s a joyful, caffeinated circus you’ll be happy to attend again and again. Step right up.

Absolutely loved the vibe here at Rainbeau Jo’s! When you walk in, your feel so special since they greet you like an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. I loved learning about Beau (the guy at the register who greets you) and Jo (making the delicious coffees) are husband and wife! It looks like they make a great team.

We ordered:
-Cold Brew ($4.95/12 oz)+ Mac Nut Flavor ($1) + Mac Nut Milk ($1.25): delicious Mac flavor
-Pineapple Danish and Cinnamon Roll: both were delicious warmed up

They also sell cute merch including clothes, stickers, and more. I couldn’t help myself and bought their purple crop t-shirts.

Lovely coffee shop to start your morning. I highly recommend checking out Rainbeau Jo’s!

This is the Dutch Bros of Kauai!!! This was our first stop once we landed and it was a great choice! The second we walked in the energy in the shop was contagious. The owner is super friendly! He took time away from working to sit down and write all of his favorite things to do on the island down for us. AND the coffee is amazing. This is the type of place and staff that deserves your business because they genuinely appreciate you being there!!

I am SO SAD — that I came here on my last day. I never leave reviews but I have to for this place.

The owners have beautiful souls and immediately makes you feel welcome. They didn’t rush us when I was deciding on an order.

My boyfriend and I are very picky w our bagels but this deserves a 100/10!
Get the Kiawe bagel w lox!! I’m already excited to come back to Kauai just to eat the Kiawe bagels again.

Coffee is delicious! I got the Sleepy Giant & Vanilla Latte. Highly recommend!!

Overall, you can tell the owners are passionate about what they do

The energy of this coffee shop is INFECTIOUS. If you are having a bad day, come here and grab some coffee and you’ll leave in a better mood than you came in. I guarantee. The guy at the front counter might be the happiest person I’ve ever met in my life, in the best way!
Cute merch (tshirts and hats) and some super cool stickers.
Coffee was amazing! Some of the best we had on Kauai. My latte was as smooth as butter.

Personalities of employees are pure sunshine + aloha spirit! Tons of DELICIOUS drink options and even some fun pastries to choose from too. Espresso is SMOOTH (great quality!) and does not have that “Starbucks burnt” taste. You should come for the amazing drinks, but the vibes are such an awesome bonus!

**Edited to add: I tried the pineapple danish and it was DELICIOUS! Soft, moist, and immediately full of the pineapple flavor before I got to the pineapple in the center! It reminded me of a cinnamon roll.

Also—fun note—their restrooms were immaculately clean and stocked with poopourri and 3-ply toilet paper! The wonderful owners have thought of every detail possible to create an amazing experience for their customers!
