No Way 2
I arrived at 12:15 PM for a work group lunch. The main reason for coming here was because one of the work group would constantly insist on having a lunch here, so I acquiesced. There’s a part of the restaurant called the Rain Room where you can sit on the floor (with cushions), but we ate in a booth. My coworkers had already arrived and ordered some spring rolls that came with a dipping sauce (I think it was sweet and sour sauce). The rolls were good, everyone liked them. Our server, Brooke, was also friendly. The bathrooms were very nice looking and well kept. I ordered Rain’s Special Noodles with crab and I opted for a spice level of hot (I think it was the second hottest). The noodles took 9 minutes and 45 seconds to arrive. Unfortunately, the crab ended up being imitation crab. What irked me about that is the menu made no mention of the crab being imitation crab, and if you pick seafood as your protein, you have to pay an additional $5. I opted to pay the additional $5 because I assumed I was getting actual crab and not its cheap knock off variety. I really think they need to mention that the crab is imitation crab on the menu. The dish itself was tasty, but again, I was wanting it with actual crab. For dessert, I picked a full order of Fried Banana, which took 7 minutes and 55 seconds to arrive. The fried bananas had a thick breading, which did make it crispy, and it did taste of banana. The ice cream that came with the bananas was decent, but I can’t say the dessert overall was anything special. In conclusion, while I had my issues with the food I got, I still had a pleasant experience and wouldn’t be opposed to trying this place again.

The last time I was here, it was years ago when I was a college student. I have fond memories eating here with friends in the cool ambiance of the “Rain Room” and sharing bites of mango sticky rice.
I came here with a friend visiting from out of town. We were seated pretty quickly. To my surprise, I had no idea they served sushi here so we got the California roll. My friend had some type of curry, I think the Red Curry with tofu. And I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken at medium spice.
Usually I order Pad Thai at different restaurants with medium spice and it’s been the level of spicy that I expect. However this time, my Pad Thai wasn’t spicy at all. If anything, it tasted mild with slightly spicy pockets here and there in between the noodles. So I was pretty disappointed at the spice level.
Other than that aspect, my Pad Thai was good. It was flavorful, nutty, and had the perfect amount of sauce to noodle ratio. The noodles had a good consistency and the veggies were crunchy and fresh. Sushi was tasty as well.
Our server checked up on us multiple times and was friendly. However at the table we were seated at, we were lacking a couple things like soy sauce and spicy/hot sauce. Although our server was quick to get us what we needed.
Overall, I’d give this place a 3.5/5.

I was traveling through Chattanooga and I used to live in this town and I wanted to go to one of my favorite restaurants. The sushi was amazing. The chicken fried rice outstanding. The shrimp pad Thai was fantastic as well as as the pepper steak. The service was amazing and the waitress went above and beyond. The only change I would’ve made was the booth wall that I sat in was covered in food and it needed to be wiped down, but otherwise it was a good visit.

I recommend, however the service was a bit slow. The atmosphere is very nice and they have a traditional room for seating on floor cushions.

Rain Thai Bistro on Lee Highway is a total hidden gem! From the moment we walked in, I loved the beautiful décor — so many amazing elephants and statues, it doesn’t feel like you’re in a shopping center. There’s also a sushi bar and an outdoor patio if you want to dine outside.
The Pad Thai was fantastic — it came with chicken, shrimp, and tofu, which was such a great combo. You can choose your spice level, and since I’m a bit wimpy with heat, I went mild, but they can crank it all the way up if you’re brave!
Huge shoutout to the bartender, who made some fabulous drinks — seriously, some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Chattanooga. Our server was super friendly and made the whole experience even better.

Ordered for pickup. Got home and noticed I got a California roll. Called to ask for a refund (the host on the phone was soooo nice) but was ultimately told that a crab tempura roll is just a California roll. I asked if it was supposed to come with sauce and was told no. Here is the picture on their website and the picture of my roll. Very disappointing to have paid 12$ for 5 pieces of a California roll.

Came in kind of late, one hour to closing. Staff was friendly and inviting but was only offered to sit at the bar due to server availability. Food I ordered was not good. Ordered Rain Special Noodles with pork, Thai spicy. There wasn’t any spice. Was given the option to remake or add spice afterwards. It appeared they just added dried chili flakes. The food is listed as stir fried with green onion and bean sprouts but there is hardly either. Also menu lists a “secret sauce”, but the noodles were so greasy and there was zero flavor. I would say the staff were nice and accommodating though even though the order was wrong. I go to Thailand about 6 times a year, this restaurant would be out of business serving food like this honestly it’s nasty. Honestly serving dried chili flakes should be illegal in a Thai restaurant, if that’s not fresh what else isn’t. No prik nam pla, spicy sauce or anything else available. Also no real Thai drinks on the menu just Japanese imports and domestic stuff. Just your standard curry and pad Thai restaurant with nothing unique.

We really enjoyed this Tai food. It was scrumptious. I had the pad tai and had to come back for more the next day with more family members. My nephew said the mango rice desert was so good he wanted to cry! The Thai coconut soup was heavenly.
Love this place and our server Tim is AMAZING! We are new in this area and so glad we found you . Please check this place out… you will be amazed.

This was the $25 sashimi dinner. Friendly order taker. Place has a nice atmosphere. But seriously? We get sushi and sashimi a lot from a lot of different places. This is the skinniest, most basic sashimi dinner I have ever seen. They should be ashamed. We also got a roll that seems like they only gave us half a roll for the price of a full roll, but based on the sashimi dinner, that is pretty much their standard. Once we left, and saw what we had gotten, we went to Food City and had to buy more sushi to get a proper meal.

After church, four of us came to for lunch. This was my 3rd visit to Rain Thai Bistro. Not knowing much about Thai food, I always rely on someone in my party, or my server to help me decide on my entree. For an appetizer, we had the Spring Rolls. For my entree, I chose the Pad Wonsoon. Our meal was absolutely delicious & prepared perfectly. Our wonderful server was Gracie who gave us Five Star Service…. Highly recommend Rain Thai Bistro!
