Great place, great food and great service!

We arrive around 6:30pm on Tuesday and ordered a black curry beef don, king prawn tempura Raman and yuzu sobert.

The flavor for Raman and Don is thick yet really hard to get sick of. Best we had in Canberra and Melbourne❤️

yuzu sobert is fresh with a little bit of bitterness, not much so it’s very comfortable to finish.

And the service was great and warm. Lovely place!will definitely come back again 🙂

Unexpected find – truly a hidden gem! Their signature black curry is definitely a must try, I got the chicken katsu and it was super crispy.

Vile and inedible.

This is supposed to be the Kuro Wagyu Beef Black Curry Don (Takeaway).

After I’d removed the fat from the thin beef strips, I was left with less than half of my meal that I paid $23.80 for!

Yes that photo is a pile of stringy fat, and more still remained.

I tried to eat the remaining ‘wagyu beef’ with the sauce provided, but ended up spitting out large chunks of fat.

Disgusting.

Everything we tried at Raìjin was absolutely delicious—hands down the best Japanese food I’ve had in Canberra. It felt truly authentic. Now I’m even more excited to travel to Japan and explore more of their cuisine!

Unassuming little Japanese restaurant in Canberra. It felt like we were transported back to Japan when we dined here. The food here is authentic, very friendly service and offered a range of Japanese specialities. I tried the level 1 devil ramen (limited offer) as I enjoy spicy food. It was spicier than I expected but it was so delicious I had to finish it. Easily the spiciest meal I’ve had so be warned. Hope to be back soon.

We’re from Melbourne…
It’s taken until Day 3 to find something good.
This place, well worth it. Great Staff.
Okonomayaki was a very large entree, fresh food taste ( id order this in Melb )
Spicy Ramen challenge ( we failed it lol )
Normal Ramen was real good.
Complimentary Sago dessert.
We’d come back here again.

Always wanted to visit this place close to home. What a gem of a place. Situated in a small quiet nook. Friendly staff, food was lovingly made and a nice small atmosphere. Definitely returning customers.

This is a family-run restaurant in a residential neighbourhood. I would highly recommend their ramen and soup base, as they might be some of the best. In my opinion, the char siu, tempura, tonkatsu, and beef are just average. The soup base might be salty for some people, but here’s a quick tip: you can always add water to dilute it to your preference, and it will still be tasty.

The desserts—matcha mochi and matcha obanyaki—are homemade, and I don’t think you can easily get them elsewhere in Canberra. They are not too sweet, and I would definitely return for them as well.

If you’re a cat lover, there’s a neighbourhood cat that wanders around the shop, waiting to get some sashimi from the owner. There is plenty of parking in front of the shops; however, you might want to make a reservation before going. Since the shop is not huge, it can easily get packed even on a weekday. The environment is also very cozy, and it can get lively if you are celebrating a personal event there, as everyone is close and they would join in the fun.

Outstanding and extraordinary japanese cuisine experience in Canberra. The black curry amazed me a lot. The color of it is made from seaweed, dark chocolate and multiple species of japanese curry. It tastes so good that we will definitely come back.
The grilled eel with egg rice is also a highlight. My kids love it so much and they empty the bowl in no time.
Staffs are very friendly, great food with awesome atmosphere. I highly recommend everyone to try this hidden gem in North-west part of Canberra.

We visited this quirky little hideout tucked away on a quiet cul de sac for weekend lunch.
the only way to describe it is cute, with just a few tables and the loveliest server.
Waiting on all the tables on her own, on a busy afternoon but somehow able to seamlessly seat people, take their orders, have a chat, make recommendations and not seem rushed, the server gets a hats off and a 10/10 from me.
The food was delicious too, we had the octopus balls, sashimi, pork and chicken in black curry finishing off with icecream and macarons for dessert, we thoroughly enjoyed everything.
we will definitely trek to the northside again to eat here. Highly recommend.
