After celebrating my birthday and craving Puerto Rican food, we came to eat dinner here about 40 minutes before they closed. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel like I was back on the island. I had the mofongo with shrimp and my husband had the arroz con gandules, and both were amazing! For dessert we had tembleque. All in all, if you want to be transported back to Puerto Rico without the costs come here!

As someone who has been eating Puerto Rican food all his life since I was a kid in Spanish Harlem NYC. This place is abysmal. Food is absolutely disgusting . When it was Millies restaurant it was exceptional but now I doubt this is even a legit spot. Super over priced for food that will make you sick to your stomach. If you know good food especially cuban or or food you know this place is horrid. How they have even managed to stay open makes me question the legitimacy of this place as nothing more than a financial funnel for other enterprises. The food is atrocious so do not say you weren’t warmed. I was absolutely embarrassed to have taken a loved one to this place to introduce them to Puerto Rican food. If you want to be sick to your stomach go here. It is Soo tragic that COVID forced Millies to close as that was a legit Puerto Rican food place we had eaten at for years at both locations. There are not even words for what this place is now
Hopefully their coffee is good and the music on their music nights fare better than the food. I will never go back to this place and I’m literally shocked that this place is still open as clientele revenue based on the poor food would never sustain this place past 3 months. I can’t say how awful the food is as I am offended and embarrassed by this place to be listed as Puerto Rican food. I should have gone to the Golden Gate right down the street to spend my money on a delicious meal although not Puerto Rican but Chinese my stomach my experience and my dollars would have been spent wisely instead of giving it away to this sham that I would never classify as edible cuisine . My stomach is still upset and the horrid flavor has seeped into my mucus system . It’s awful and I’m sorry to say so.

Food is Ok. Red beans were exceptional. Went to counter, and didn’t get treated. “What are you going to have” As I ordered, I told one lady near me, “buen provecho” she looked offended as she did not understand what I said. Said it again and understood. She obviously works there. After I paid for dinner and given 20% Tip. I sat down expecting someone to, at least bring my drink”. that didn’t happen. I waited for the food and server, which never came by to see how I was doing at any moment, followed her to get my drink from refrigerator. Chicken I ordered was very small. The food was pricey and the only food that was real good was the beans. Atmosphere felt boring and the music was not even from Puerto Rico. Yes there was salsa music from everywhere else and; not the original singer.
I wanted to feel at home. Did not happen here.
I’m hoping you improve upon this as I am an honest reviewer and I don’t complain at the spot. Just drive on and review, the reason to follow reviews.
I want this place to feel and sound like Puerto Rico, sorry but that’s supposed to be your place, act like it!

Felt pride walking in as a Boricua to this restaurant in Mesa, AZ. The mofongo was very good. The carne frita could’ve been a bit more fried but the flavor was good , almost like a pernil. The tripleta was ok. Overall it’s a good restaurant but can definitely be better. The empanadillas should definitely be home made. In my opinion it would be a big seller if it were especially in a city where there is not enough Puerto Rican food exposure. Came back to try the yuca alcapurrias and had some Quesitos. The alcapurria is delicious. The meat is well seasoned and the masa the quesito really good. Tienen pastelillos de guayaba Highly recommended

This restaurant brought me back to the island! I have been on the hunt for some authentic yet delicious Puerto Rican food and THIS IS IT! It is cooked with love and I can’t wait to go back. I had the pernil 10/10 arroz con guandule 10/10 white rice and beans 10/10 the cuban sandwich was super yummy and it was very generous on the meat. The jugo de parcha (passionfruit juice) was fresh squeezed and 10/10. The only thing I wouldnt recommend so far is the piña colada. It was a terrible mix and not as expected and the lady added tequila instead of rum which I think she genuinely didn’t know. A MUST PLACE TO EAT!

Don’t order the Cuban. You’ll be disappointed. You can make the same sandwich yourself at home. Never seen a cuban with deli ham and cheddar before. I posted what your sandwich looks like and what a real Cuban looks like

Asked for a mofongo relleno de pollo to go with a quesito and a alcapurria de yuca. When I get to work that’s 20 min away from the restaurant I did not get a mofongo relleno de pollo, I got a mofongo with chicken and salad at the side. I called the restaurant and the person identified as Araceli’s told me that that’s the way they made mofongo relleno. First of all that’s not a mofongo relleno, a mofongo relleno is a bowl made out of plantains filled with the meat of your choice not at the side. Aracelis was very rude and dismissive and did not care at all about my food being wrong. I asked her to speak to the owner or supervisor and she said that he was not there, funny because when I was there he was the one cooking in the kitchen. She said he would call me back and when I tried to give her my phone number she said that it was not necessary that they had it recorded and that he will call me back. Never received a phone call back or even an apology from this lady or the owner. Very disappointed.
So people if you want to eat good puertorrican food with people that care really about there costumer go the El Coqui restaurant, donde el Boss or to the Puertorrican Latin Grill they will treat you with respect and care really about your experience in there restaurant.
