Went in for omakase at Raibu a few nights ago and thankfully was not disappointed. The food and sushi were all excellent and the service was friendly but not overbearing. Each nigiri sushi was prepared in a specific way based on what the chef thought was best. The fish was fresh and each bite different. Good sake selection as well. The restaurant decor is a good balance between trendy and welcoming. It definitely does not feel anything like what the exterior of the building looks like.

A few things for improvement: the front entrance could use nice heavy curtains to block out the cold air from guests entering and exiting. The tea selection needs a little expansion. A hojicha would be a good addition to the menu. It gets pretty busy and lively in there so some additional sound proofing would elevate the experience.

Hands down the best sushi in Boise and honestly, one of the most special dining experiences we’ve had. The quality of the fish and ingredients is absolutely top notch, and you can immediately tell how much care and intention goes into every single bite.

We had the chance to meet Chef Seth, which made the night even better. He walked us through the process, explained the ingredients, and encouraged us to enjoy each piece one by one really savoring the experience instead of rushing it. Watching the team cook, cut, and plate with so much patience and precision was incredible. You can truly see the craft and pride behind the food.

After chatting with Chef Seth about the flavors we usually like, he surprised us by making a custom roll warm and comforting and said, “You have to end your night with something warm.” That small gesture made the whole experience feel so personal, special, and authentic.

If you’re on the fence, do the chef’s choice menu it’s 100% worth it. This place feels like something Boise has been missing, and I’m a huge fan of restaurants that prioritize quality, intention, and experience the way this one does.

We’ll absolutely be back for more ❤️

We celebrated a birthday at Raibu and the experience was truly superb from start to finish.

The highlight was having the chef curate a tasting menu for us, which was not only creative and beautifully presented, but also entirely gluten free to accommodate dietary restrictions. That level of thoughtfulness and flexibility is rare, and it made the evening feel genuinely special rather than simply accommodated.

Every course was fresh, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. Easily some of the best sushi I have had in Boise. The service matched the food: attentive, warm, and perfectly paced without ever feeling intrusive.

A special thank you to Addie, who took excellent care of us throughout the evening and helped make the celebration feel effortless and personal.

Raibu manages to feel both elevated and approachable, which is a hard balance to strike. If you are looking for a place for a special occasion or simply exceptional sushi, this should be at the top of your list.

Highly recommend and we will absolutely be back.

A highly anticipated visit last weekend with some friends and we were NOT disappointed. The service was professional and attentive. Our server, Sierra, was very knowledgeable on the menu and had excellent recommendations. The dishes were phenomenal! We ordered several appetizers and rolls for the table and everyone was delicious in their own unique way. The chefs definitely know what they are doing, playfully combining different flavors and textures. My personal favorite was the otoro sashimi, the tuna was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My friend said it was the best tuna he had ever tasted. Looking forward to coming back and bringing more friends to share the experience with!

Small, quaint fun place to eat dinner. Definitely the more traditional Japanese sushi style as opposed to Hawaiian sushi style. Moderate flavors that are so tasty and intentional. Everything we had was delicious! The staff were great. The vibes were great. And the wine even better!

Boise’s first and only omakase! It was delicious. One of my favorite dining experiences in Boise. Every course was fresh and tasty, my favorite was the ocean trout. Uni, toro and scallop were also favorites. The service was phenomenal. Staff made us feel welcome and taken care of the entire time. They even gave us extra pieces of fish no charge. The restaurant was beautiful and clean. The ambiance was cheerful and lively it’s pretty noisy, not like the intimate omakase experiences I’ve had before but still very fun. I will absolutely be coming back for special occasions. This is a must try in Boise.

Raibu Sushi Bar is a must to experience quality sushi, talented chefs and knowledgeable friendly staff. Opening night I chose the Omakase, chefs selection and every single bite was perfection. The chefs were amazing — super talented, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. You could feel the care and precision that went into every course.

The fish quality was top-notch — so fresh and flavorful that it practically melted in my mouth. Every dish had this perfect balance of texture, flavor, and presentation that made the whole experience unforgettable.

The service was just as impressive: attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. The staff made the whole experience feel personal and refined. You can tell the whole team cares about creating something special here.

Raibu Sushi is an absolute gem in a great neighborhood just on north side of Boise! I can’t wait to go back and experience it all over again. If you love sushi, this place is a must.
