First off, the staff is super friendly and inviting. The speed of service and attention given by the wait staff is second to none. I had a beef and cheese egg roll for an appetizer. I could have made that a meal. I also had salt and pepper wings, DELICIOUS!!!! I also had crab fried rice which was very good. My wife had beef and broccoli which I tasted the beef if was tender and flavorful. I didn’t have room for dessert, but I will try it later.

Shout out to our Server Lonnie (Lani), I’m not sure how to spell her name, anyway, she’s seems to be a very sweet and kind soul, who did an outstanding job with me and my 92 year-old mother. Very attentive and friendly. The manager gentlemen was very kind too. They close at 3 pm on Saturday’s which we found out, when Mom and I walked in at 2:37. We drove 14 miles south down Route 16 from Sherrill’s Ford, to come eat here, because of how good the food is. When we walked in, the young server with the glasses (not our server) told us they close at 3, and last seating was at 2:30. I expressed our disappointment with how far we just drove to come. The gentlemen Manager heard me, and graciously started to seat us. The young server with the glasses immediately showed her disappointment with the Gentlemen Managers decision. I hollered to mom let’s get out of here because I didn’t like young girl with glasses attitude. The man Manager insisted we stay, which was nice. The food and Lonnie’s (Lani) service was impeccable. She got a 70% tip because of what a sweetheart she was, and the Manager being accommodating sitting us at 2:37. I hope Miss young glasses didn’t get to share in any of that big tip. I’d like to make a suggestion. Even though we didn’t know they close at 3 on Saturdays, your should put 2:30 pm closing on your operating hours if your going to stop serving at that time. Thank you for a 90% great experience, and we look forward to coming back. You have the best freshest tasting Asian food I’ve ever had. It’s Fantastic.

This cute place had an abundance of Asian fare that will excite your taste buds. Start with a Thai Tea and jump into a noodle or rice dish from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. Railay is also a gorgeous peninsula in Thailand that you can dream about visiting when you wait for your food. Great for groups or solo lunch. Take out makes sense too! Lovely vibes and authentic feel.

Food was staggered coming out of the kitchen, but very tasty and tangy. I got the sweet-and-sour chicken and it was excellent. Very polite and helpful staff. Has vegan options as well.

I recently went through my photos and realized I never shared this review from my visit to Rai Lay on September 4th. I ordered the Pad Thai as a gluten-free dish, and the photo attached shows what I received. If you look closely, you’ll notice small balls that were supposed to be chicken—honestly, I’m not entirely sure what they were, but at best, they seemed like leftover pieces rolled together. The noodles were also quite dry.

I used to eat at Rai Lay several times a week, but had stopped going for a while because I felt the food quality had started slipping. I decided to give them another try since the location was convenient for a meeting, but unfortunately, the quality—both in taste and presentation—just wasn’t the same. Disappointing experience yet again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars!

My daughter and I had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience at Rai Lay Asian Bistro Riverbend, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully maintained—it immediately set the tone for a special evening together.

The food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and presented with such care and attention to detail. You can truly tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Each bite was delicious, and it made the entire experience feel memorable and elevated.

What truly made our evening exceptional, though, was our waitress, Tiffany. She was absolutely outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made us feel welcomed right away and checked on us at just the right times without ever being intrusive. Tiffany’s positive energy, professionalism, and warm personality made our dining experience even more special. It’s rare to receive service that thoughtful and genuine, and she deserves to be recognized for it.

This was more than just dinner—it was a wonderful experience that my daughter and I will cherish. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for incredible food and truly exceptional service. Thank you for such a perfect even

Let me preface by saying the food was good. We arrived by 630 pm. The restaurant was 50% occupied, with plenty of hustle and bustle. We sat for 10 minutes without any server coming and asking for our drink and food order. Once we ordered, we were then greeted by multiple servers, and that’s when we were told there was no one specific server.

Appetizer: calamari. It was heavy, greasy, and chewy. It needed a light chili sauce, no a thick, sweet chick fil a tasting sauce.

Entree: Pad thai. The absolute only thing I was impressed with. Delicious, got the beef

Curry: we asked the server if it was mild, and she insisted it wasn’t. I love spicy foods, but my wife can’t eat with a runny nose. It was spicy enough to make me get a runny nose. Obviously, she has never had the curry

Sushi: They have a special called surprise me. You tell the sushi chef what you don’t like, and they have free range to make something. It’s 5 $ more than regular sushi. So you must be getting more. Wrong. It was mediocre, full of sauce, and only 8 pieces.

We expressed our concern with the sushi. There was no apology or let me get the manager. No refund or take it off the check.

The icing on the cake. After we had finished our meal, we had servers pass our tables at least 20 times. The plates from our appetizer and entrees sat at our table the entire time. They even filled my water 2x. After expressing my feelings about this to the server, she looked at me like there was nothing she could do. Take this review as you will, food 2/5, service -9/5.

Pathetic. Will never go back.

Being that it was our first, my daughter and I decided to buy one dish to share, along with an order of spring rolls. The dish we shared was the Crispy Scallion Chicken. The spring rolls were very good. However, the chicken dish that was described as having a sweet and spicy sauce was instead sweet and very sour/ extremely tangy! We couldn’t eat it and left over half. Also the chicken hiding underneath the sauce was stale, ie very dry and stringy. Not fresh at all. We told the waitress who told the manager. He told her to give us half off the chicken dish, and we walked our hungry! The waitresses, Lonnie and Laura were very nice.
