This place was on my list to visit and try. Had a taste for Fried Catfish and decided to give em a try. Place wasn’t busy when we arrived so we were seated right away. Place had a Creole New Orleans vibe. Ordered the Alligator Fritters and the Seafood Platter and a drink called Monsoon. Food and drinks came out fast. Food was hot and fresh. First time trying alligator fritters and they were good. Drink was pretty strong. Kinda tasted like a Sex on the Beach cocktail. We enjoyed everything and we got our money’s worth. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She kept checking on us making sure we were enjoying our meal. If you’re in the area and want some seafood I suggest giving em a try

Stopped at Ragin Cajun on a whim and got lunch. It was delicious! I had the lunch special 1/2 sandwich and soup, the roast beef Po boy and seafood gumbo with boudin balls and side of red beans and rice. It was definitely too much food for one person but worth it for leftovers!
One of the servers walked by and said oh is it good? I said yep! she said yeah I heard you said mmmmm when you bit into the sandwich
Ashley was the bartender and server and was great!
Oh and the Rougarou drink!

Consistently great food with one small hiccup — but still one of our favorite spots.

We came in for brunch and I ordered the andouille hash, which was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. I was especially excited for the poached eggs, but unfortunately mine was about 20–30 seconds undercooked — enough that the whites were very runny, so I had to eat around it. That said, everything else on the plate was spot-on. The hash, andouille, crawfish, and vegetables were all cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was on point. Cajun food is hard to salt correctly with all the different textures, but they nailed it.

Someone else at our table ordered the crawfish étouffée and grits with poached eggs, and hers were cooked perfectly. She was hesitant to open hers after seeing mine, so I checked it for her — and it truly was perfect. She loved her dish as well.

Now for the star of the show: the boudin balls. These alone are worth coming back for. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and slightly creamy on the inside, and seasoned exactly the way they should be. Whether you dip them in the house remoulade or the Creole mustard, you can’t go wrong — though I personally prefer the remoulade for its slight kick.

Service today was a bit slower than usual, but the place was extremely busy, so I don’t hold that against the staff. I actually had a chance to talk with the bar manager and learned he makes the Bloody Mary mix from scratch, along with his own compound syrups for the specialty cocktails. My Bloody Mary was great — flavorful, hydrating, and (depending on the day) even bottomless. I appreciate when people take pride in their craft and elevate it into something creative.

We also had an amazing live band playing New Orleans style music, which added a perfect atmosphere to the meal and made the whole experience feel even more authentic.

All in all, even with the small poached egg mishap, we had an excellent meal, like we always do. Ragin Cajun continues to be one of our go-to spots, and we’ll keep coming back time and time again.

My older brother picked this place out to try for a brother’s hangout. When we got to Ragin’ Cajun, I just noticed all the different sea paintings on the wall. Since it was a day after Christmas, the restaurant wasn’t so busy. It didn’t take long for us to be seated. Our waitress and hostess were amazing and kind. They were short-staffed, but they work really hard. I decided to get the blackened chicken sandwich and fries. The blackened chicken sandwich was just alright, nothing special. I think the chicken needed more seasoning. Also, the coleslaw that was on the sandwich just wasn’t good at all. The fries, on the otherhand were amazing. They were just seasoned to perfection.

My kids and I stopped here today, and it was such a treat! I can’t remember our waitress name but she was so sweet and very informative if the menu. I got a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was delicious! I also ordered the fried shrimp platter with a side of catfish. I don’t care for tartar or cocktail sauce, so she recommend the Cajun dipping sauce which was SOOOO good. The shrimp were seasoned to perfection, the fries were good and seasoned BUT the catfish was a let down. No seasoning on it at all, however I do recommend the cook to season it with whatever seasonings that were on the shrimp . My daughter had the kids chicken strips and corn, and she loved it. I can definitely say that I will return to try more of the menu. Oh, and the sweet tea was awesome

1st time, but definitely not the last! My friends and I enjoyed ourselves at this place. The atmosphere was great. The staff was polite. Lilly took care of us. She was so sweet. The food was 10 out of 10….seasoned to perfection! Even on a rainy day, we were in heaven.

Couldn’t pass up a poboy, so stopped in for one and some boudin. Instead of the regular fried catfish, shrimp, oyster, or gator poboy, I went with a pork shoulder one. Meat was like a pulled pork you’d get from a BBQ place, topped with slaw and bread/sandwich size was a little smaller than what I’m accustomed to from Louisiana…but, all in all, wasn’t too bad. Also, the boudin I had as an appetizer was pretty tasty and had a good, complementary spicy kick to it. Food service was a little slow, but the food was served fresh and hot…so, overall worth the wait. I’d go again (and again) to try out the red beans and rice, gumbo, jambalaya, and other poboys on the menu

So I really like the boudin balls.
I tried the catfish platter. I would not suggest the catfish taste it like it was cooked very high heat quickly and had an extra fishy taste. That was not normal when eating catfish. Also have the Nola roast beef this time and last time last time was much better The roast beef was kind of tough this time they should try chopping the beef. And putting it on the sandwiches that way. Fries with a catfish plate or soggy and old tasting fries with the Nola roast beef way better than me because of the packing being separate
