Food was great! No wait at all. Prices are comparable to other places around. Definitely enjoyed the flavors in the pizza and the crust, tasted homemade!!

I’m a recent transplant to Tennessee from Chicagoland area. I am a pizza snob and I’ve been looking for some good pizza. I will say, Rafael’s is pretty good. I enjoyed the buttery crust. Not too thick, not too thin. Apologies though – it’s not up to my Chicagoland snobbery when it comes to pizza, but I would order from here again. I’d also like to try some of their other food because the menu looks good.
I tried Rafael’s off an Ubereats deal for BOGO and it is a good value for what you get.

I love this place! Being a vegetarian I especially love their “Crispy Chicken” burger which contains no meat, and comes with a generous side of fries. The photos below were probably taken a year apart, and it does look like they might have used different buns both times, but the burgers are my default whenever I go to Rafael’s.
The place is always clean, and the environment pretty quiet. This is a nice place to check out if you’re in the Ooltewah area!

Nope! Nope! Nope! The salad bar salad was filled with water! Drain it first, please. The pizza buffet was three choices. The big one-get-one was marked up enough to not really be worth it.

So why is it $19 for a SMALL pizza? My husband had to tell female on the phone 3 times that we wanted our pizza well done. I picked it up, it wasn’t well done and parts of the crust/dough were cold. Ringgold location is cheaper, friendlier and efficient

We haven’t eaten here in a while and we used to eat it at least once every 2/3 months, so we ordered pick up. 2 chicken finger dinners (used to be 4 fingers, fries, bread, and a small salad) and 2 chicken Parm dinners (spaghetti with 4 chicken strips and that big thing of garlic bread), we added and paid for 2 cups of feta cheese, mushrooms and onions on one of the chicken parm’s, and 2 extra cups of ranch. They said it will be an extra charge for these items up front and I’m like cool, no worries, already knew that so not a problem at all. Husband goes picks up food, comes home, $62, like whoa, crap, ok, but like Rafael’s is Rafael’s and they’ve always been a great place to eat, good portions worth your money, etc… But then I open the food… the garlic bread is a hotdog bun. I’m not lying. Regular dinner fork beside it for reference… the chicken tenders are the size of 2 burgerking chicken fries put together, and now, all their dinners only come with 3, my husbands mushrooms and onions were no where to be seen, and my sons fries were so burnt I just tossed them and split mine with him. I called and asked for a manager, of course there isn’t one, so guy says let me get you with someone who’s been here a lot longer than me. Cool, thanks. Lady picked up the phone and asked how can she help, so I said yes ma’am, my husband just picked up an order for us, it was $62, and we had… and she interrupted and said yep yep, what was the name of the order? I said oh, sorry, it was (husbands name), she says, yep, right here, you ordered (proceeds to list off everything we ordered so I know they had it right lol) and then immediately went into the price of each item (including the items we DID pay extra for because she was looking at it) and then says, so that’s why it was $62 (I guess she thought I was questioning the price, and absolutely was not. Everything’s more expensive now, nothing new). I said well, thank you for confirming my order was taken correctly and that we were fully charged for everything, but, no my issue is – and proceeded to explain the small amounts, burnt fries, missing stuff we did pay for…. And I was met with, mmhmm well, the chicken tenders only come with 3 now, not 4, same for the chicken parm. All dinner with chicken tenders now have 3 not 4. Me – cool, but this small?? (Like seriously the 8ct chicken fries from BK were more than the 3 we had and the garlic bread was legit a hot dog bun.) She said we just work here and don’t get to determine that. Me – ok, cool so what about the missing items we did pay for and yadayada – she said, well, you can bring the food back and we can issue a whole refund or you can come back with your card and get a partial for just the missing items or we can keep your name for a DISCOUNT on a future order but there’s nothing I can change about the price or sizes so…. Me – nah, keep it. If y’all are struggling this bad, keep it, it ain’t worth my effort or time to drive back out there for a refund for missing items only, we just won’t be coming back…

They no longer have the “2=1”. They charged me for both pizzas. The girl at the counter didn’t know what I was talking about. They must have changed their sauce too, it doesn’t taste the same. Very disappointing experience all around. 🙁

Ordered two medium pizza. One with mushrooms and the other with jalapeños. The pizzas were ready in a timely manner. Not too slow but not too fast either. The pizza dough was made nicely. It made the pizza crust bake soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The crust is not thick but not a thin crust either. It is like a medium crust. The cheese perfectly covered the pizza. There was the just right amount of pizza sauce under the cheese. I hate it when you bite your pizza and pizza sauce squeezes out but this pizza did not have that problem. The tops were also great. The mushrooms tasted fresh and the jalapeños were spicy. They could’ve been spicier but overall still good. They had a deal buy one pizza get the second free.

Rafael’s used to be the best pizza in town. In recent years its consistency and quality has rapidly declined. One day it will meet its inevitable fate of being shutdown by the health department.
