Located in the heart of downtown Long Beach, Radish is a celebration of the agricultural spirit of the Gulf Coast and the unlikely connection between a charming coastal town and the humble root vegetable that put it on the map. Nineteenth-century farmers took advantage of the L&N Railroad and the opportunity to ship the fruits of their labor northward. The favored Yankee bar snack of the day was a long scarlet radish dipped in luxurious butter and coarse salt. The good times lasted until Prohibition, when local bars shuttered and demand for the Long Beach Red dried up. Today, Radish embraces time-honored techniques and traditions to create an ingredient-driven menu that showcases what it means to eat and drink in the south.

I had heard a lot about Radish and how incredible it was, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the four-course steak dinner, and it was phenomenal. The biscuits with whipped sweet butter were delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked as well. The only disappointment was that some of their more popular items were sold out (due to a holiday dinner). Just means we have to come again to try those out! Highly recommend.

I remember when someone told me that there was a new restaurant in Long Beach. Hungry and skeptical, I walked into Radish expecting the usual “coastal fare” routine.
Wrong. The place is tiny, honest, and smells incredible!
That radish appetizer: confit beauties with whipped goat cheese and fresh focaccia, creamy and crisp in perfect harmony. The fried green tomato BLT is ridiculous in the best way: crisp, smoky, sloppy, perfect. In fact every dish that I have tried at this restaurant has been next level, absolutely wonderful.
Service is sharp, warm, and genuinely caring, they’re happy you showed up. Head chef William Rester is killing it, turning out fresh, vibrant dishes that keep me coming back for more.
Five stars. Go eat.

Being a NOLA native and someone who loves to cook, this is the best restaurant from the MS to the FL Gulf Coast. We went here for our Valentine’s dinner. Ordered the lovely Rita cocktails, crab beignets, she crab bisque, pecan catfish w/ rosemary fries, and king cake donuts. Dined for two hours, savoring the flavors. Service was excellent in the intimate, cozy atmosphere. I was too busy enjoying the food and only took a photo of the partially eaten dessert.

Radish is a really special place. From the personable owner, to the sweetest servers, to the kitchen staff. You can tell that care and thought go into every dish and drink. It’s honestly the perfect spot to go for any occasion. Date night, girls night, bring your family, fly solo at the bar. Tonight I had their blue cheese encrusted filet with garlic mash, and a Pomegranate Margarita (2, actually). I also got a slice of s’mores pie and a Vietnamese coffee creme brûlée to go. I can always count on a 10/10 experience here.

A gem of a restaurant. Met a few girlfriends for birthday dinner and besides a hefty bill at the end, everything was great. I especially loved the roasted radish appetizer with whipped goat cheese on toasted bread. The brussel sprouts were also great. And the wagyu beef burger was delicious. The staff was super nice and the chef even surprised us with an experiment dessert. All was wonderful and I highly recommend.

Radish is cute, quiet, and quaint. A bit of the opposite of us during our visit with 4 adults and 3 children. So, I am quite happy we had made reservations when they opened and likely did not interrupt anyone else’s experience.
Radish is also treading the line of ‘fine dining’ without the suit and tie, hot towel, and stuffiness that can be attached to that sort of experience. With the well-made ‘out-of-the-box’ (not to be confused as made out of a box) dishes that are quite remarkable.
Their menu is well-focused and not overly bloated. The prices are a shade on the high side, but you get what you pay for through tasty well thought out dishes.
This place is not run-of-the-mill and you can tell that meticulous detail is taken on every dish coming out of the kitchen.
Violet, our server for the evening, was very good. As was all the other staff we had the pleasure of associating with.
Kudos to all involved. I will be returning.

Incredible meal and service. The brussel sprouts appetizer was perfect. The crawfish gnocchi was well seasoned, and the gnocchi is made in-house. The potato bread and housemade butter are perfection. The snapper was today’s fresh catch and had the right amount of spice. The duck was also delicious, and they customized to meet my daughters needs. The macaroni and cheese was enjoyed by the entire table. Definitely give this place a try. There is limited seating, so make a reservation for groups over two.
