Had an amazing experience! Joseph, the bartender, made one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had — perfectly balanced, fresh, and honestly unforgettable. You can really tell he knows his craft.

Mary and Mariana were also wonderful waitresses — attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcomed throughout the entire visit. Their service truly elevated the experience.

Great drinks, excellent service, and a fantastic atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Stopped by while staying at the Radio Hotel and decided to try Jalao NYC.

I ordered the Chicharrón de Mar (calamari and shrimp), Oxtail with rice, and a Coco y Whiskey cocktail.

The Chicharrón de Mar was disappointing. It had too much batter, was slightly over-fried, and only included three shrimp. The shrimp themselves were juicy and flavorful, but the overall dish felt heavy.

The Coco y Whiskey was essentially coconut water with whiskey, and the combination actually worked well. It was light, smooth, and refreshing.

The Oxtail and rice had great flavor but was inconvenient to eat. The rice was plated separately for presentation, which made it awkward since the dish tastes best when everything is mixed together. Once I combined them, it came together nicely. The roasted plantain on the side balanced the rich and salty flavors well.

What bothered me most was the 15 percent automatic gratuity added to the bill even though I was dining alone. I normally tip 20 percent, but having it automatically included felt unnecessary. Maybe it is common in New York City, but it still left a bad impression.

The total came to about 78 dollars before tip, which felt high for what I received. The food had solid flavors, but the experience was mixed overall.

I had an amazing experience at Radio restaurant in Manhattan! The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Dominican flavor. Every dish I tried was fresh, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented.

I also want to give a special thank you to Mary, Daury, and Frederick for the incredible service. They were so welcoming, attentive, and made me feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Their kindness and professionalism truly made the experience even better.

If you’re looking for great Dominican food, a lively atmosphere, and outstanding service, Radio restaurant is definitely the place to go. I will definitely be coming back!

I want to give this place a 3 start but the food and Atmosphere where 5+ star. Food was delicious and especially the “Mofongo” was delicious. Even my Dominican friend that isn’t into it loved it. The chicharrón sandwich is what I ordered was very good. It’s one of the best Dominican Branches i have been to. They have good taste in music and the atmosphere is lively. Cool decor and we came as a big family group. Great place to have Brunch for multiple families.
CONS….. Why it’s not a 5 star.
-We paid for “Bottomless Mimosas”, $26 each, and they would not fill up our glasses. The menu says, “Bottomless Mimosas but for only 2 hours”. In the 2 hours+, I got 3, and everyone else got 2 mimosas. We literally kept asking for another and where greeted with a smile and the waitress would say , “Of course, I’ll be right back”. But then take 30 minutes or so to come back. When I asked for my last mimosa she said, “Of course” and never came back. When she brought the bill she would not make eye contact. Its not high end Champagne, so it’s not like they need to save. But this was my only big gripe.
-I would recommend to just order a individual cocktail and enjoy it. The $26 is not worth it

Organized a birthday dinner with friends and family; they worked with me closely to put together the custom menu and to bring my vision to life. The manager, Emad, was incredibly supportive and accommodating! Recommend and would return again!

Nice place to relax and to enjoy , Delicious food , the atmosphere is good , the volume of the radio is perfect not to loud. The service was great , the only thing is that it took long for us to get the person to get our bill . Other than that it was good .

Stopped by Jalao NYC for drinks while staying at the Radio Hotel, and it was a great experience! The ambiance was lively and colorful, super fun atmosphere with great energy. The bar area was pretty busy, but luckily we were able to grab a table without much of a wait, which worked out perfectly. Drinks were solid, and the music and decor added to the whole vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area or staying at the hotel

This was our first time at Jamal and it will definitely be our last. I made reservations to go on Valentine’s Day for their pre-fix menu with my girlfriend. We got sat at a booth that was very low and super uncomfortable, so much so, that the couple next to us was asking to be moved as we were being sat. We waiting for about 10 mins and couples get sat at both sides of us. Another 10 mins go by and both couple beside us get helped with drinks and food, and we still haven’t been greeted by a server or been given water for the table. I had to find a manager on the floor, to ask him for a server. He then proceeded to tell me okay, I’ll take care of it, without actually looking at me while talking to me. Very unprofessional. Finally the hostess is sent to us to take our order. We order steak and lobster and they don’t even ask how we want it cooked. We ordered our drinks and it took forever to get them, then when they finally come, they brought me a lychee martini, instead of an espresso martini. Everytime I wanted to order another drink or needed something, I had to get up to the hostess stand to ask, because we never were given a server. The food was very bland, and mediocre at best. When it was time for the check to come, it had a 15% tip included. I asked the manager to take that off, considering we never got a server after asking multiple times. This was a terrible experience and really killed our vibe on valentines day. I will make sure to stay away from this place and definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to go.
