This has become one of our go-to spots for special date nights—and we never miss Sushi Night. We were back again tonight for another incredible evening, and once again, everything was outstanding.
All of the sushi was delicious, but that Prime Rib sushi?! It instantly reminded me of Willy Wonka’s Three-Course Dinner Chewing Gum—every bite felt like a different part of a full prime rib dinner, unfolding one flavor after another. Truly unique and unforgettable.
And then… the hot chocolate cheesecake. Wow. Warm marshmallow fluff, whipped cream, rich chocolate cheesecake—absolute perfection. Tiramisu, you’ve officially been bumped to second place.
Our server, Emily, was exceptional—polite, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely amazing all around. The food and the service are exactly why we keep coming back. Thank you for another fantastic night and for everything you do!

Good service on a busy rainy Friday evening. Both the food menu and the drink menu have a good variety of options. The food came out quickly and was well seasoned and was a good portion. The prices are very reasonable.

We flew into Bad Axe airport for fun and were looking for a place to eat dinner. In our research we came across a YouTube video about the restaurant (and the documentary). We knew we wanted to support this family after hearing their story. The food was really good and elevated with clever flavors – not typical for most smaller east coast towns in Michigan. The server was a bit quiet and asked about a refill instead of just bringing one but overall a great experience especially with their outdoor seating. Would come here again.

Great food, great atmosphere, a great service – how can you go wrong! Too hot to sit outside, which was too bad as the patio was super cute. I had one of the best burgers that I’ve ever had and my wife had whitefish that was amazing! The live music was wonderful and was a great addition to the overall vibe. To top things off, the owner stopped by our table to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves – yes we did!

Service was great! Dogs are allowed on the patio so my fur baby joined! Boyfriend got the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese (yummy!) and I got the Traverse City salmon salad!

Rachel’s is one of our favorite restaurants in the thumb! Every time I come up I make sure to stop by. The owners are always around and so sweet and personable. I have never had a bad meal here and my experience is always amazing!! The pork belly bowl and sriracha bourbon burger are some of my favorites. The sushi and margarita are seasonal but also a must try if you can come by soon!

Stop!!! If you are in the area you should definitely check out Rachel’s. The atmosphere and service was fantastic to start off. Fresh flowers on the tables, even had wonderful blankets if your cold. I had the Rachel’s Cosmo to drink and had 2 because they were so good. All the food we had was really good. All the food was reasonably priced also. I had the Ribeye and you could tell it was local meat and it was great. Cooked to a perfect medium rare also. Too many great things to say but most importantly just check it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed a birthday lunch at Rachel’s. Had French Onion Soup, Broiled Cod, Broiled Whitefish, all was wonderfully done. Mentioned to our waitress that is was my birthday and I was going to order the Molten Lava Cake. She came out with the my dessert and Happy Birthday written on the plate. The dessert was absolutely the best, ice cream, strawberries, whipped cream and a moist cake with chocolate pouring out of the middle. YUMMY!
