Sometimes I feel intimidated at an Indian restaurant on what to order and the staff helped me understand the menu, how best to order and what the meal included or what the sauce was like. Already excited to go back! Service was insanely amazing, food was fast, fresh and so incredible. It was a little quiet for me but by 7pm, on a Wednesday, it picked up and their happy hour is not to be missed! Do not sleep on the paneer makhani (pictured) and coconut shrimp!

Raag is such a fun experience. The owner was there and took time to talk with our group, make recommendations and just connect with us. We tried multiples items and each was better than the last! The fusion dishes were unreal. The drinks were amazing too!! We went during Christmas time and had this incredible chai martini that I’ve been craving since! If you’re looking for something new, add this to your list!

What an absolute waste of money. Almost $80 for three dishes and Naan. The food was horrible. My wife had the butter chicken and thought it tasted like tomato soup. The palak paneer was dead bland at a ‘medium’ spice level and pureed to an unnatural green slurry. My kids wouldn’t eat a bite of it, and they normally love Indian food. This is going to get thrown away. A complete disappointment, go anywhere but here.

Top notch food and experience. The staff is welcoming and attentive. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried on the menu, which varies with every visit. One constant that we ALWAYS order is the mushroom truffle naan- highly recommend! The cocktail menu is great as well.

With many restaurants to choose from in the Twin Cities, Raag is one of few that we return to again and again.

Love the upscale vibes, service was good, food was bland. I ordered a beer off the happy hour menu (5:45 on a Wednesday), didn’t get the happy hour price, was $2 more. Maybe prices have increased and the menu hasn’t been updated? I settled on the Saag Malai Chicken which comes with cumin rice and it looked like a work of art but lacked any flavor… I ordered it with a mild spice level, maybe that was a flavor level?

Raag never disappoints and visited them on April 8, Absolutely blown away! I came back after more than 5 months, and it’s still serves up the most authentic Indian cuisine I’ve had in Minnesota–hands down.

I tried the Palak Paneer and Lamb Biryani, and both dishes were nothing short of amazing. The Palak Paneer was creamy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced, while the Lamb Biryani had that deep, aromatic blend of spices with tender, juicy lamb cooked to perfection. You can really taste the love and authenticity in every bite.

The service was outstanding–attentive, warm, and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was modern yet cozy, making it great for both casual dinners and special occasions. Bonus points for plenty of parking–a rare win in the twin cities or may be even the mid west!

If you’re looking for top-tier Indian food in Minnesota, Raag is the real deal. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Since the establishment was clearly labeling themselves as fancy Indian food, it was very clear that they put a lot of thought into presentation. Most of the food they served looked gorgeous, to the point that some may think they were overshadowing the flavor. But I can confidently say that in terms of flavor, many of the dishes were extremely on point as well.

Items like the blackened chicken, the tomato dal, the butter chicken, and the palak paneer were very flavorful. The blackened chicken was juicy and tender, too, on top of containing abundant flavor. The samosas contained an abundant amount of potatoes and peas. I could taste a good amount of tomatoes and coconut milk in the butter chicken, which was very creamy. I could also taste very strong garam masala in the palak paneer, which was a great thing. The butter naan was an excellent addition because the flavorful curry definitely needed more than rice to evoke its full potential, and naan bread was perfect for such.

In terms of dessert, the mango mousse was incredible! Its soft but solid texture made it very easy to break up and consume, while maintaining its shape without collapsing. The saffron, milk powder, and cream altogether offered a very integral taste that had lots of depth. I honestly want to try all the desserts on their menu, too, like the coconut pannacotta and the basundi pistachio tiramisu, because they both looked amazing on the menu.

While this establishment is not one of those places you visit that often, it is perfect for a date night because it has clean and relatively fancy decor along with flavorful food and can evoke a romantic vibe. I will for sure return here in the future and highly recommend it for those looking for quality Indian restaurants!

Great Indian restaurant in the Twin Cities! I came in for lunch with my partner and had a lovely experience. The service was excellent, the overall atmosphere was nice, and the food was delicious. In particular, the samosas we had as an appetizer were absolutely incredible! I also really liked the garlic naan and the lamb roganjosh I had as an entree. The flavors were amazing and the portions were very generous—what I couldn’t finish at lunch kept perfectly as leftovers. Plus, it was so good that I had those leftovers for dinner that same day!

The staff were friendly and attentive, and the decor was nice. I thought the mural that was painted on the wall was very beautiful. Overall, I definitely recommend checking out Raag Progressive Indian Cuisine if you’re in the area! I’ll definitely be back for dinner and cocktails sometime soon.

Raag Progressive Indian Modern Restaurant offered my group and I a delightful meal with fusion of traditional Indian flavors with a contemporary twist, creating a unique and memorable dining experience. The dishes are beautifully presented and expertly crafted, with bold spices and innovative techniques that elevate classic Indian cuisine. From the rich, flavorful gravies to the perfectly balanced appetizers, every bite showcases the chef’s creativity and passion for modern Indian gastronomy. This is my third time dining at Raag and it definitely won’t be the last. If you are in the Minneapolis and Edina area do check this place out. Great food and great service.
