The place definitely needs cleaning. There are small flies inside the restaurant which makes it a not pleasing experience. I went back to Ra almost after a year , hoping they’d have improved, but it’s gotten worse.
Our server was friendly unlike the staff back in the day. The taste of food doesn’t match the price. I was surprised to see the portion of a $14 appetizer, which is similar to a fine dining place like Fleming’s or Sullivan’s but no taste at all without the sauce.
The staff cleaned the table the seated us, but there were a lot of debris from probably months, under that table. The plates still had soap spots. The plate they served the scallops roll was dirty on its edges. That’s not something you expect at a restaurant where you pay $20 for one single item. The coconut cream brûlée was nicely decorated though.
One other caveat is that you cannot redeem any offers for happy hour. Plus, you cannot redeem more than one offer per table (no other dining place I know of has that rule) even though you get two separate checks.
Overall you can pay a similar price for a much better and cleaner meal in any of the nearby restaurants.

We had Ra Sushi cater an event for us at our school and it was amazing!!!! Food was so delicious and everything was perfect. The staff really loved absolutely everything, specially the Pork Gyozas!

Definitely will be going to the restaurant for every event we may have planned in the future!

Solid 3-star experience.
The food is good. They have good lunch specials including bento boxes.
The miso soup was a little too watered down.

I had a good lunch for $25

The one thing they could really improve on is the cleanliness. The whole place needs a really good professional deep cleaning.

Fantastic place for sushi at La Encantada. Prices reflect the atmosphere and general vibe of the area, but the rolls are delicious. The crazy monkey roll and the viva Las Vegas roll were our favorites.

Went for a girls’ night and got four rolls to share + drinks and were happy. Our server Luke was amazing and friendly! As it was a Monday night, there was no wait and the area was overall quiet. Recommend for a date night or a girls night especially on a Monday for all-day happy hour.

First time going to RA Sushi here in Tucson. Went for a nice birthday lunch and was very satisfied.
If you’re lucky enough to have Ayman as your server, you won’t be disappointed.

Luke was absolutely amazing—thank you so much for such a wonderful dinner experience! The service was attentive, friendly, and truly went above and beyond. Management was also fantastic and made us feel so welcomed.

I highly recommend RA Sushi. Everything from the food to the hospitality was top-tier. We will definitely be back!

Ra has always been one of my favorite places to go for amazing sushi and cocktails. The only reason I am writing this review is what happened last night, Feb. 13. My friend and I went to celebrate my birthday two days early and to enjoy happy hour. I had a birthday reward I was excited to use and know they have great happy hour deals. When we arrived we were told there was no happy hour because of Valentine’s Day, which wasn’t even until the next day. We were bummed but continued with our evening. We were given a completely different and very limited menu with prices that seems more expensive than normal. My friend and I splitting two appetizers, two rolls, and two drinks cost us $173. When I then tried to use my $50 birthday reward, I was told “the manager said we aren’t taking any discounts tonight.” I was told I can use it “next time” but it expires soon and I don’t live very close to the restaurant. I was very disappointed first for the fact they were not offering happy hour when it wasn’t even a holiday, second that there was different menu even though it wasn’t a holiday, and third I could not use my birthday reward on my birthday weekend. I love Ra but I now question if I want to go back.

The service at this location of RA Sushi was very good the night we were there and the atmosphere outside was very pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was nowhere near as good.

For a sushi restaurant there were only a handful of “specialty” rolls and most of them featured imitation crab. I do not know why they have the word sushi in their title.

Maybe it was my mistake in going to a sushi restaurant in a state with no coastline?

Benihana‘s other sushi restaurant (Haru) is much better and actually offers sushi. I guess raw sushi is made for people who actually don’t want sushi so maybe the name should be “Na Sushi”

Needless to say we will not be returning.

My husband and I went so I could try the sushi, it did not disappoint! The food was excellent! My husband is not a sushi fan and they have a wonderful menu with allot of choices. He chose the Steak Teriyaki, it was very good and I chose the Holy crab roll, sooo good! Also the Calmari was truly one of the best I have had in Tucson! Our server was Pau, she is so sweet and helped me to navigate the menu and gave some wonderful suggestions, you should ask for her area when you go. We also met Kevin the Manager, awesome man. If you have any questions he is helpful or even to just say hi. This is definitely our new go to place! Save room for desert! That’s fantastic as well!!
