I recently celebrated a very important milestone at Quinlan’s Seafood Bar in Killarney, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place for such a special occasion. Having enjoyed seafood in many different countries—including Portugal, Spain, Israel, and Italy—I can confidently say that Quinlan’s delivered an experience that was truly outstanding.
The food was absolutely the best in both taste and presentation. Every dish was beautifully plated, incredibly fresh, and bursting with vibrant flavors that highlighted the quality of the local catch. Delicious fish and chips. We went for the cod and it did taste brilliant and was fresh. Large portions. Service was great too during a busy Saturday night in August banko holiday. Recommend this place!

Someone recommended this place and it was a brilliant find. Atmosphere was great, location was great, prices were reasonable and food was great too. We also ordered the most popular fish & chips, seafood chowder and kids prawns meal.
Although you cannot make humble fish & chips awesome but not messing it up is good enough for me. I would recommend this place for regular seafood. Nothing fancy, plain simple good food.
On a side note, they do have washroom and you need to park at nearby public parking.

Taste wise was nothing special.
I wanted to get the chowder but then i saw there was a menu special. Half chowder and half salmon sandwich. Why not?
Well basically i paid 2.50 euro extra to have half chowder and 2 slice of salmon on the slice of bread that usually comes with the soup. Or in other terms i paid 6.50 for 2 slices of salmon.
I guess that if i would have got the full sandwich, they would have gave me the slice of bread above.

Don’t have a lot of options no smoked cod and the prices are just a turn off. Me da had the fish and chips no complaint with the food just the prices are disgusting €20 for a fish & chips. Was quality to be fair so dont want to be too harsh.

Try the seafood chowder! We actually wanted to eat fish pie which they didn’t have so we had the chowder and it was delicious! Will dream of it for a few weeks I think. Crab claws were too garlicky for my taste but nice to try- have never had crab claws before. Service was outstanding.

I’m not some sort of food connoisseur but just ordinary person that enjoy eating out and trying different things. I just say as it is. Food in this place is absolutely gorgeous. Fresh and very tasty seafood dishes. I really wasn’t expecting that quality food from restaurant on the busy tourist street. I’m saying that as from my own experience food in those areas is so so. Possibly because they mostly serve people that visit the town once in there life time and chances of keeping them as regular customers are low. This restaurant is not like that at all, plus I’ve saw locals only collecting their food.
Anyway place well worth your visit. Recommend rezervation as it is busy. We were waiting about 20min for a table, but it was worth even hour waiting.
Last but not least, it’s not going to damage your wallet. Food is reasonable priced.

Chowder was nice but bread seemed to be out of a packet, just let down such a nice bit of grub.
Spicy Bowl was lovely and dip was epic. Staff were really nice, took their time and chatted to the customers, really brilliant.

The Seafood chowder is really excellent and nicely presented. It offers many fish & chips with several kinds of fish. They are excellent. Appetizing, crispy and the fish are as firm as they are tender. It is cooked to perfection.
The prices are really correct.
When you are seated in front of the cooks bar, you are treated to two screens: one presenting the region and the other the making of the food, from the fishing to our plates. A real pleasure.
The only negative point: the coffee is terrible. And yet it is with a real Italian machine that they are made. There is a big adjustment problem …
