Food was decent for a zoo. The dining room was disgusting, though. Every single table was filthy, covered in crumbs, trash on the floor, flies, etc. we even saw employees taking break at a nasty table. They didn’t even bother to clean it for themselves. Just gross

I go to Quills Cafe when I come to the zoo. The food is good, but the service is not. The elderly lady who works the register and takes orders is always very unfriendly. Never smiles and you can really tell she hates her job. Name on receipt is Helen Hawkenson. And the other employees seem like they don’t care to be there either. I asked for a to go box and the lady African American heavy set. Pointed to some boxes on the counter and as I reached for one , she yelled at me and said no ask him for one. But that’s not what she communicated when she pointed. So not kind or helpful.

It took 10 minutes just to place an order. Sure, there’s a line, but the staff are just waiting to prepare orders that are already pre-cooked. They skipped my number and prepared 3 numbers down. It took another 25 minutes to finally get my food. They need a good expediter and replaced the person taking the orders when it’s busy! She’s holding up the line! I’ll never go back to this place and not recommended. Stay away. Not worth it!

The food is OK, for the most part (stay away from the flatbread), but the organization is a mess. We tried the contactless ordering, and found that they don’t make the order until you go to pick it up, so you have to wait. There’s no place to wait, so you stand in the way of everyone.

For what you get, the food is mediocre, but it’s also a zoo concession building so it is what it is. It was still edible, just nothing fantastic. There wasn’t really a lot of options either.
