It was not even 930 Friday night. The sign on the door says they close at 10pm. There are 2 employees in the restaurant and they look right at me as Im trying to open the door that is now locked. At least 3 more groups of customers came up to try the door as they just ignore everyone, offering no explanation. They just turn off the OPEN sign. Very unprofessional. I wonder if anyone cares about the business they lost.

January 2025 –

I have been going here once a week for the past several years and something has changed recently.

I always get the chicken and rice with no vegetables and I order extra chicken and the portions have always been very large UNTIL the past month. The last 4 times I’ve been the chicken portion has significantly decreased despite me paying extra money for extra chicken.

It’s very noticeable. The picture on the RIGHT is how it use to be, the pic on the LEFT is today, January 29th. Clearly a huge difference.

Additionally the chicken has gotten VERY fatty. Have to spit out several pieces every time.

It’s unfortunate because it use to be a very good value. Likely will no longer be going back.

One of the cooks was on the phone while cooking our food. The entire time (40 minutes) we were there, he handled cleaning supplies, cleaned tables, and then cooked more food without changing his gloves, all while still on his phone. Other people noticed as well that he was cooking while laughing on the phone. We heard them also complaining about how unsanitary he was.

Frequent customer to the Sterling Quickway Location. Chicken Hibachi w/ no rice, extra veggies and double chicken is my normal go-to. Tried a normal prep this visit. I could have used less rice and more veggies (personal preference). I also enjoy getting the sauces on the side (hibachi and yummy sauce) which is now being charged at a $0.50 surcharge for side order, due to increased food and container costs. They still give sauce for free if you add on-top, but I like to dip.

First, this is not Japanese food. It is a menagerie of quasi Asian/Chinese options faintly resembling Japanese. Ordering is easy. Got the chicken Bento-chicken was ok. Can’t figure out why there was no soy sauce ginger or wasabi for the sushi. No soup options at all. Cold stark atmosphere. Ok, if you are hungry , in a hurry and need something filling but don’t care about authenticity.

A simple, unfussy Hibachi place. Food isn’t extraordinary but it’s good, especially for the price and the portions. There’s plenty of seating on tables and booths.

Great food for great price.
Portion sizes are really good.
The specialty sushi was also good.
This was a nice, quick way to get some good Asian food for a very fair price.

I did take out, but there is plenty of seating inside and the place was clean.

The staff was very kind and professional as well.

Completely disgusted and never going back, and if anyone is reading this, please pay close attention to preparers of your food. I’d gone in last night around 930ish. When I walked in, it appeared as that they were already prepping to close (chairs had been sat on the table and there was an employee mopping). Upon seeing me come in, the employee sits the mop and mop bucket to the side against the wall near the drink machine, and gets behind the counter. She does NOT bother to wash her hands and proceeds, bare-handed, to prepare my noodles and vegetables, after having played in her hair and wiping her face. The employee who took my order, never changed gloves and still continued to cook the chicken on the grill. At this point, I’m seething and short of nauseous. The ONLY person that exhibited any awareness of sound hygiene was the other employee that seemed to be cleaning out the freezer (or ice machine). I saw her wash her gloves and hands. Mind you, there was another time I’d gone to the restaurant, and there were other patrons there. The same employee that was mopping had to be directly told to wash her hands before handling others food, and they seemingly caught an attitude for having to be told to be hygienically sound. I’d honestly thought that this time would be different. It most definitely was not. That was the last time I patronize this restaurant as there is no emphasis or accountability for cleanliness as it pertains to food preparation or hygiene. Utterly disgusted.
